[name\_f][/name\_f] I posted my girls list a few days ago ([My Very Long Girls' List](https://forum.nameberry.com/t/my-very-long-girls-list/469940)), and now it’s time for the boys! As I said there, I’m not currently expecting, but hoping to be soon. I just don’t get quite as excited about boys’ names, so this list probably won’t be quite as long 😆[name\_f][/name\_f]. [name\_f][/name\_f] [name\_f][/name\_f]- [name\_m]Henry[/name\_m]- A name I’ve liked just about as long as [name\_f]Philippa[/name\_f], probably because of the [name\_m]Henry[/name\_m] Huggins books. I know he’s gotten very popular, but I love him enough that I don’t want to give him up. [name\_f][/name\_f]- [name\_m]Simon[/name\_m]- he feels like a cozy wool sweater sort of name. [name\_f]My[/name\_f] husband has specifically mentioned liking this one before seeing my list. [name\_m]Simon[/name\_m] has been toward the top of my list for a while, but this moved him even higher for me. I just think there’s something very sweet about us both liking a name before we even met. [name\_f][/name\_f]- [name\_m]Peter[/name\_m]- I feel like he manages to feel classic but unexpected at the same time and reminds me pleasantly of [name\_m]Peter[/name\_m] Rabbit and [name\_m]Peter[/name\_m] [name\_f]Pevensie[/name\_f]. This is another one my husband liked before seeing my list. [name\_f][/name\_f]- [name\_m]Rory[/name\_m]- [name\_m]Rory[/name\_m] seems like a cuddly Celtic name to me, and also very boyish, possibly because I first encountered him on [name\_m]Doctor[/name\_m] Who. [name\_f]My[/name\_f] impression is that a lot of other Americans see him as more unisex, though, which makes me wonder if he would feel out of place with my other names to other people. [name\_f][/name\_f]- [name\_m]Arthur[/name\_m]- would [name\_m]Rory[/name\_m] work as a nickname? I like him independent of the nickname, so that would just be a bonus. On the one hand he gives me gentle, bookworm vibes, but at the same time the association with [name\_m]King[/name\_m] [name\_m]Arthur[/name\_m] gives him a certain strength. [name\_f][/name\_f]- [name\_m]Vincent[/name\_m]- for the longest, I would always dismiss this as a stereotypical pizza restaurant name. At some point, though, I started thinking of it in more of a [name\_m]Vincent[/name\_m] [name\_m]Van[/name\_m] Gogh sort of way, and suddenly it seemed more like a creative, sensitive name. I’m not totally sold on any nicknames yet, but the more I think about it, the more I think a toddler [name\_f]Vinnie[/name\_f] might actually be pretty adorable. [name\_f][/name\_f]- [name\_m]Franklin[/name\_m] [name\_f][/name\_f]- [name\_m]Edward[/name\_m] (Teddy, at least when he’s little)- for ages, [name\_m]Edmund[/name\_m] was one of my favourite boys’ names. Unfortunately, a personal connection a few years back made it feel unusable for me. [name\_m]Edward[/name\_m] has much of the same old fashioned gentleman charm that [name\_m]Edmund[/name\_m] has for me, though, and probably works better with a potential brother [name\_m]Peter[/name\_m]. Lately [name\_m]Ned[/name\_m] has been growing on me as a nickname. [name\_f][/name\_f]- [name\_m]Barnaby[/name\_m]- I’m not sure if he’s [name\_m]Just[/name\_m] Too Much, at least for a child in the US. But he feels so energetic and joyful, and the sounds of the final syllable just sort of naturally leave my mouth in a smile, and I just can’t be anything but happy when I say him, so he stays on the list. [name\_f][/name\_f]- [name\_m]Abel[/name\_m] [name\_f][/name\_f]- [name\_m]Abner[/name\_m] [name\_f][/name\_f]- [name\_m]Lachlan[/name\_m] [name\_f][/name\_f]- [name\_m]George[/name\_m] [name\_f][/name\_f]- [name\_m]Roland[/name\_m] [name\_f][/name\_f]- [name\_m]Lawrence[/name\_m]- for reasons that I can’t really explain and that aren’t particularly founded in ration, I find this spelling warmer than [name\_m]Laurence[/name\_m] 😅[name\_f][/name\_f]. I was very curious to see your boys list after seeing the girls! Boys feel harder to me too. [name\_f][/name\_f] [name\_m]Simon[/name\_m] is one of my absolute favorite names! It’s a timeless classic that has never been too common but is easily spelled and pronounced, and has very cozy associations for me too [name\_f][/name\_f]— sounds friendly, smart, approachable. Agreeing with a partner on a name is also relatively rare so that does make it more special! [name\_f][/name\_f] I also love [name\_m]Arthur[/name\_m], [name\_m]Vincent[/name\_m] (nn Vinny!), [name\_m]Lawrence[/name\_m], and [name\_m]Gilbert[/name\_m] [name\_f][/name\_f]— [name\_m]Gilbert[/name\_m] has an endearing clunky/old-fashioned feeling, and I like the [name\_f]Anne[/name\_f] of [name\_m]Green[/name\_m] [name\_m]Gables[/name\_m] connection 🙂[name\_f][/name\_f] and [name\_m]Arthur[/name\_m] has always sounded like a perfect combination of strong and soft to me. [name\_m]Henry[/name\_m], [name\_m]Simon[/name\_m], [name\_m]Rory[/name\_m], [name\_m]Arthur[/name\_m], [name\_m]Lachlan[/name\_m], and [name\_m]George[/name\_m] are all wonderful names. They all feel along similar vibes and would each work well. [name\_f][/name\_f] I don’t immediately think of [name\_m]Rory[/name\_m] as a nickname for [name\_m]Arthur[/name\_m], but I don’t see why it couldn’t be! [name\_f][/name\_f] [name\_m]Barnaby[/name\_m] does a feel a bit too much to me for a baby in the US. I like the name, I just think it might stand out a bit. [name\_m]Peter[/name\_m] and [name\_m]Edward[/name\_m] are also cute names but again I feel like they aren’t as common at least where I live in the US and might stand out a bit. I’d love to meet a little [name\_m]Simon[/name\_m], I think it’s so sweet.
