I am writing some stories and drabbles for contests. The name I currently use, which is just short form of my own name, well, it doesn’t feel right. It doesn’t fit my style of writing and it just looks wrong while written down.
So, I browsed some sites, searched for some alternatives… You know, I wanna make sure it fits and has some meaning.
Well, finally, I made up my mind and I think I’m gonna go with D. M. Kardraho/Kardaho.
(I know that DM already stands for direct message, but I don’t mind that. I mean, I am kind of direct message, too. :D)
Yup, but I need some help for figuring it out, obviously.
the “easier issue” - Should I go with Kardraho or Kardaho? It is very sharp R sound, so… Isn’t it much?
the “harder” one - “M” stands for Mawrth, Welsh word for March and Mars. Welsh language is very close to my heart, so I am not going to change that. But I am still not sure what should the “D” be?
I’m looking for two syllables unisex name, not too soft sounding. Preferably not containing R or W. That’s all I ask and still, I can’t find anything that just clicks.
I agree with PP that Kardaho has a nice flow to it, with the extra “r” in Kardraho making it more difficult to pronounce.
As for the D names- you have a lot of options! Some that haven’t been mentioned include:
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
[name_u]Dorian[/name_u]
[name_u]Dash[/name_u]
[name_u]Dana[/name_u]
[name_u]Danny[/name_u]/ [name_u]Dani[/name_u]
[name_u]Dusty[/name_u]
I was also wondering which contests you’re interested in. I’d love to look into entering some- any recommendations?
@thenamehunter Well, currently, I am in three non-English contests, so I’m afraid that isn’t something you are looking for. I can’t find anything good in English, but I’m following the “writer challenge” tag on tumblr and hoping. Sorry for being so unhelpful! .-.
Thanks for the wonderful recommendations, everyone. I am shortening it to [name_u]Dusty[/name_u], [name_u]Dustin[/name_u] and [name_u]Dorian[/name_u], I like them the best.
