I have been revisiting past loves in the bid to feel 100% happy with whatever name we choose for our baby girl.
Yesterday I was complaining to mum that whatever name I say my older daughter loves to say “I hate that”, younger daughter often pulls a face. They both have very different tastes too… so there’s no winning.
Plus 2 weeks ago my mum and dad blow torched my ‘short’ list too. I’m getting mighty sick of people asking me about names then disliking them- makes me feel like there is no one name that everyone will like.
Anyway, I said there are some ‘old’ favourites I have liked for years, but that are they are more unusual- so I am worried people may not like them as they are not mainstream enough. She asks… like what?
Xylia- she responds “I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it!!! I’ve never even heard that ever before but it’s really pretty! You should just use it, it’s so nice. Who cares if it’s unusual! This baby is special and she deserves a special name.”
What do berries think of Xylia? I would likely call her Xylie sometimes too.
Xylia is on my list, though I’ve never seen it around NB. it sounds exotic but not weird, and the meaning is adorable “wood dweller”. Reminds me of a woodland fairy with mossy green wings. And the first letter X is fantastic. It’s an epic name for that reason alone. With something sweet and a little soft in the middle, a stunning name would arise. Xylia [name_f]Margot[/name_f], Xylia [name_f]Claire[/name_f], Xylia [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], Xylia [name_f]Opal[/name_f], Xylia [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], Xylia [name_f]Willow[/name_f].
I think I just talked myself into moving Xylia up on my list, haha. But I give it two thumbs up.
