The votes are in! The combos are set! Now I will announce the names that you all chose for my top 10!
I started this series because I was a little lost thinking about my top 10 names going into the [name_u]New[/name_u] Year. We started out with 100 girl first and middle names, and 80 boy first and middle names, and we are down to 10 of each.
In the final poll, the majority voted that they wanted a thread with my thoughts, as well as one where you guys can comment your thoughts. So I will discuss a couple major highlights and if you want to know more or if you have any other questions, let me know! Otherwise, I want to know your thoughts!
Overall impressions of the list:
These are all names that I love and they’re names that I would vote for on other people’s threads! Key words there being “other people”. There were only a couple combos that I think I can truly see on a child of mine (but I’d be happy to hear from people who think otherwise!)
There were a couple surprises but not many. By the time I got to the top 25/20, I had a pretty good idea of what names would succeed. Many of the names that ranked highly in the first polls continued to reign in future ones.
Both lists leaned towards the few vintage names that were on there (possibly my only vintage names for boys because that’s not my favorite style, I’ve found). The girls were more feminine and frilly than my usual style, and the boys were more vintage than my shortlist.
I love all of them! [name_f]My[/name_f] favorites from the girls are [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] [name_u]Willow[/name_u], [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Honora[/name_f], and [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. Of the boys, my favorites are [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_u]Archer[/name_u], [name_m]Evander[/name_m] [name_u]Finch[/name_u], [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Elio[/name_m] and [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_m]Hawthorn[/name_m].
I can definitely see [name_u]Percy[/name_u] and [name_u]Winter[/name_u] with your other favorites. I also really like [name_m]Evander[/name_m] [name_u]Finch[/name_u] for you!

I’ve been really looking forward to this! Perhaps I should do something similar sometime. It seemed like a lot of fun and an interesting insight into the most popular opinions of the Berries!
I feel like so many of my favorites didn’t make the list, but I AM pleased with the lists that you ended up with.
Of the girls’ list, I am surprised to see [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] on the top. Although nice names, I’ve never thought of either of these as Nameberry favorites. Maybe [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], but I definitely would not have guessed [name_f]Linnea[/name_f]. [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Wildrose[/name_f], and [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] [name_u]Willow[/name_u] surprised me the least. They definitely feel like Nameberry staples! Overall, my favorite girl name here is [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Honora[/name_f] - same as you! [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] comes in at a close second.
The boys’ list feels so unabashedly Nameberry. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it! [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_m]Hawthorn[/name_m] definitely feels the most ‘[name_u]Abby[/name_u]’ of the list, though. [name_f]My[/name_f] personal favorites are [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] [name_m]Silas[/name_m], [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_u]Archer[/name_u], and [name_u]Luca[/name_u] [name_u]River[/name_u]. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] is very unsurprising to see at #1 for me.
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] and [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m] are probably my faves, but I love so many of the others too. Good job, Nameberry!
That said, I do agree with this. [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Honora[/name_f] is definitely the most you – and it’s fabulous, by the way! I think this will always be the way with a crowdsourcing-style Top 10, but still a fun exercise for gauging general favourites and gathering new combo inspiration.

That was another favorite! [name_f]My[/name_f] only drawback is really stupid… I don’t like combos where the initials are right next to each other in the alphabet . But other than that it feels like a truly [name_u]Abby[/name_u] name!
Yes, we do! A lot of my other word names made it far but even they lost to the undeniable force of berries running towards nature names haha. I was secretly rooting against both [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] and [name_f]Wildrose[/name_f] making it… but the will of the berries was too strong!
You should! It was a lot of fun, although I wasn’t too surprised by the results. I was surprised at a few of the names that made it so far though!
The rankings are more arbitrary, although I’d definitely put [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] at #1 for the girls. She was at the top of all of her polls and it wasn’t close. I copied the lists from my notes and the numbers were there so I made sure I had 10 of each. I can’t do math!

Yes, I do agree! I do love when people tell me what names they picture on my future children because sometimes they give me ideas that I otherwise wouldn’t have considered so highly. I definitely have some berry favorites (lots of which shown here ) and some names that aren’t on most berries’ radars at all. I would absolutely use [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Honora[/name_f] and [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_m]Hawthorn[/name_m] in a heartbeat! I would also be very likely to use [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]. I love the rest for other people but the girls feel too frilly for my daughter and the boys have a lot of 2-syllable names paired together so they feel too simple for my son.
