I’m due with a boy early [name_u]July[/name_u] and find boy names to be a bit tricky. I’ve got the middle name FOR SURE which will be [name_m]William[/name_m], after my beloved father who took his own life [name_f]May[/name_f] of last year.
Here are my 3 favorites
[name_m]Holden[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] - I’ve always loved [name_m]Holden[/name_m], but this entire name would be honoring my father, as Catcher in the [name_m]Rye[/name_m] was his favorite book.
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] - wouldn’t do [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m], would just do simple [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. I love it and feel it would fit any sort of boy.
[name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] - I just have fallen in love with this name in the last few weeks!
One more name I really like but am on the fence about…
[name_m]Conrad[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m]
I do love [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] but have reservations about it because, let’s face it, we live in a nation where people love to nickname and I definitely don’t want anyone to call him [name_u]Connie[/name_u]! I would just want him to be [name_m]Conrad[/name_m], nothing else.
I would really appreciate some honest feedback on these names.
I have two daughters, [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. Though we call [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] full-time by the nickname of [name_f]Lottie[/name_f].
I love both [name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m]! [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is very sweet. [name_m]Holden[/name_m] isn’t to my personal taste but still a great choice.
I think [name_u]Taylor[/name_u], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] “[name_f]Lottie[/name_f]” and [name_u]Evan[/name_u] make the perfect sibset.
I agree, [name_m]Holden[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] is fantastic. I love that the whole combo would be special to you. My second choice would be [name_m]Conrad[/name_m]. I know plenty of people (varying ages), most of my extended family included, that do not go by nicknames. I would not worry about a [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] being called [name_u]Connie[/name_u].

Go with [name_u]Evan[/name_u]! I think [name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] flows really well. However [name_m]Holden[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_u]Evan[/name_u] are super great too. [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] is my second choice:)
Firstly I’m sorry about your father I couldn’t possibly imagine how rough that is. Secondly [name_m]Holden[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] is my favorite.
I love [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. I am not a big fan of [name_m]Holden[/name_m], but that’s only because I went to highschool with a boy named [name_m]Holden[/name_m] Wanger, and I always think of him. It’s a great name paired with [name_m]William[/name_m] however.
Congrats on the child, and I think it’s wonderful that you’re honoring your father with the middle name!
I’m surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but “[name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_m]Williams[/name_m]” is a very well known brand of whiskey, so proceed with caution in that regard! I do think [name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] is lovely as a name in itself, so if you’re okay with the whiskey association I’d say go for it.
I like [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m], too. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is becoming more popular, but it’s quite fun and spunky. No strong feelings on [name_m]Holden[/name_m]. I’m not personally wild about [name_m]Conrad[/name_m], though.
I think [name_m]Holden[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] is the best, followed by [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. I would be hesitant about [name_m]Leo[/name_m] though knowing [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]. [name_u]Taylor[/name_u], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], and [name_m]Holden[/name_m] all have an interior L in common and I like their flow together.

Thank you to the person who told me about the whiskey called [name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_m]Williams[/name_m]! I had NO IDEA! My dad was an alcoholic, though a WONDERFUL [name_m]MAN[/name_m], never violent or abusive in any way. I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_u]Evan[/name_u], but I’m just very hesitant about my son’s name having any alcohol association. Especially since I’m honoring my dad.
