All of your names are fine but here are my rankings.
1 [name]Eliza[/name]
2 [name]Willa[/name]
3 [name]Sadie[/name]
4 [name]Annelise[/name] ([name]Anneliese[/name] is actually my preferred spelling. I would avoid the spelling that would have the word “anal” contained in it.)
5 [name]Amalie[/name] (I prefer [name]Amelia[/name] or French Amélie)
With those spellings, my favorite of the 5 is [name]Eliza[/name].
Like mischa said I prefer the spelling of [name]Anneliese[/name] ( atleast that’s how my friend’s cousin spells it.) But I choose [name]Anneliese[/name] or [name]Eliza[/name]. They are both so pretty and sophisticated!
[name]Willa[/name] is my fave, then [name]Sadie[/name]. I could go for either of these as they’re brilliant. [name]Eliza[/name] is lovely too.
I really dislike [name]Annalise[/name] as I hate the various spellings and my uncertainty of how you say it. Is it anna-lees or ann-eh-lees-eh or something else.
I like both Amalie and Annalise spelt with ‘e’ as the middle vowel (Amelie and Annelise) - more traditional and sophisticated in my mind, and the ‘a’ already has a lot of emphasis as the first initial. Amalie (however you spell it) is definitely way above the others.
I don’t like Willa. Sadie or Eliza are OK, just not my cup of tea.
[name]Sadie[/name]!<3 Oh, please use that one! I’ve loved this name for years, even had a dog with the name about 14 years ago. I find it very pretty without being overdone, and rather underused.
I also like Amalie and Annalise, and approve of Eliza (I go back and forth on that one). The only one on your list I don’t like is Willa, but it’s okay. I prefer Willow, Wilma or Wilhelmina. Willa sounds incomplete and sometimes like you’re trying too hard to me.
I love [name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Annelise[/name].
Thanks for all of the responses! [name]Eliza[/name] is my favorite so I’m glad to see it get the most votes : ) I’m also surprised to see how many people like the name [name]Sadie[/name]…makes me like it even more! I get what everyone is saying about the spellings of [name]Annalise[/name], didn’t even think of the whole “anal” thing. I dislike the [name]Anneliese[/name] spelling, but I do like the [name]Annelise[/name] spelling. Maybe I’ll re-think that name bc of all the spelling confusion. What about [name]Elise[/name]? it has a similar sound as [name]Annalise[/name]/[name]Annelise[/name]. Can [name]Eliza[/name] have a sister [name]Elise[/name]? I know they both have a relation to [name]Elizabeth[/name] and the same meaning. Are they considered the same name?
I love [name]Anneliese[/name]!!! Why do people see these things in names?
I like [name]Elise[/name] a lot but I love [name]Anneliese[/name].
rollo
[name]Eliza[/name] - I adore [name]Eliza[/name]. I don’t think you can go wrong with [name]Eliza[/name].
[name]Amalie[/name] - Not my style, I’d prefer [name]Amelie[/name], but even then, there’s just something about it that I don’t like.
[name]Annalise[/name] - It’s nice, though not my style. I also prefer the [name]Anneliese[/name] spelling.
[name]Sadie[/name] - I really adore [name]Sadie[/name] and it was hard to decide which one to vote for between [name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Sadie[/name].
[name]Willa[/name] - [name]Willa[/name] is an old favourite of mine. I still like it, it just seems to have lost some of its pizzazz.
Good luck!
[name]Eliza[/name] - it’s not one of my favorites but it’s a very good name
[name]Amalie[/name] - pronounced the same as [name]Amelie[/name]? I like both, although I prefer [name]Amelie[/name].
[name]Annalise[/name] - I like [name]Anneliese[/name] or [name]Annelise[/name] better. There does seem to be confusion over the pronuncation of this name. I say [name]Ah[/name]-nuh-lee-za.
[name]Sadie[/name] - cute and spunky.
[name]Willa[/name] - I don’t like it that much, not sure why.
[name]Annaliese[/name], followed not too far behind by [name]Eliza[/name].
I can see the appeal of names like [name]Sadie[/name] and [name]Willa[/name] but personally they will always feel like shortened versions of other names.
I love both [name]Willa[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Eliza[/name] was edged out due to the number of Ellies, Elizabeths, etc. at the moment.
I dislike [name]Amalie[/name] and [name]Annalise[/name]. I’m not fond of [name]Amelia[/name]/[name]Amelia[/name] or any of its forms, and I find [name]Annalise[/name] just an unappealing sound with a complicated series of spellings. I much prefer [name]Alexandrina[/name]/[name]Alexandra[/name] for long A names, and [name]Astrid[/name] or just [name]Anne[/name] for short ones.
[name]Sadie[/name]'s pleasant but I feel like its a nickname for [name]Sarah[/name]. I would probably call my [name]Sarah[/name] either [name]Sadie[/name] or [name]Sally[/name] but not use either as a full name.
Thanks for all of the opinions! Keep them coming : )
I love [name]Sadie[/name]! [name]Love[/name] it. [name]Just[/name] on it’s own, though, not short for [name]Sarah[/name] (which I think is probably the most boring girls’ name ever, sorry).
[name]Willa[/name] is cute, but I don’t love it. I think I’d prefer [name]Willow[/name] (although it’s a bit out there).
[name]Amalie[/name] looks pretty, but sounds too much like a mispronunciation of [name]Emily[/name]. It somehow looks as if it doesn’t know whether it wants to be [name]Emily[/name] or [name]Amelia[/name].
[name]Anneli[/name][e]se (prefer this spelling, but both are fine) is pretty, I like it a lot. I would never get ‘anal’ out of it, unless it’s spelled ‘[name]Analise[/name]’. I also think it must be better-known here than in the States, because I don’t think there’s a pron issue at all - it’s just ‘[name]Ann[/name]-uh-LEES’. [name]Ann[/name]-uh-LEES-uh would be spelled ‘[name]AnnalisA[/name]’, to make the extra ‘uh’ syllable on the end.
[name]Eliza[/name] is way, way too popular where I live - but that’s Australia, so you may not have the same problem. Plus, I don’t really like the dominant ‘[name]LIZE[/name]’ sound.
I like [name]Annelise[/name] best, with the e. [name]Sadie[/name] was the name of a horse I rode when I was doing the equestrian thing in high school, so now I only ever picture a horse when I hear it. It’s cute, though. I’d probably pick [name]Eliza[/name] as my second choice, but only due to the whole horse thing.
I like [name]Eliza[/name] the most, followed by [name]Willa[/name]. I would not use [name]Elise[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name] together, but I like them both:) [name]Elise[/name] is a bit sweeter [name]IMO[/name]. I even like [name]Elyse[/name] a lot. Good luck!
Thanks Berries! I love all the feedback : ) and appreciate all of the insight! [name]Eliza[/name] is my favorite and I’m also happy that my other choices had mostly postive reactions too. Yall have definitely given me a lot to think about!
I voted for [name]Analise[/name], but I would spell it [name]Anneliese[/name]
