I would like to hear everyone’s opinions on my top 5 girl’s names. Suggestions for names to add are totally welcome- I’d love to hear everyone’s input! Thanks!
[name]Camilla[/name] – I think this is so pretty, as is [name]Camille[/name]. I think I do prefer your version of it. Nice and easy to spell and pronounce, but also underused.
[name]Alexandria[/name] – My opinion on this? TOOOOOOOOO many Alexandras, Alexandrias, Alexises, [name]Lexis[/name], etc. It’s at a point where it makes me sick. I’m sorry…I used to like [name]Alexandra[/name]–not [name]Alexandria[/name], but close. Then everybody had to go and nauseate me with it.
[name]Guinevere[/name] – [name]How[/name] do you pronounce this? Maybe I’m an idiot…but I tend to think that if I had to ask how to say it, many people would have to ask, and the poor girl may get tired of answering.
[name]Elisabetta[/name] – Sweet and pretty, and a nice twist on the common [name]Elizabeth[/name]. The more I say this name to myself, the more I like it.
[name]Orinthia[/name] – I like it because it’s different and exotic, but also easy to pronounce and the spelling makes sense. Have you considered [name]Oriana[/name]?
[name]Camilla[/name] - I like it a lot, actually. I think [name]Camilla[/name] sounds sweet and it looks so classy, but lately I’ve been preferring [name]Camille[/name]. I do like [name]Camilla[/name] better as a FN, though.
[name]Alexandria[/name] - I’ve never been a fan of most [name]Alex[/name]- girls’ names… I’m not sure why. I was almost an [name]Alexandra[/name], but I’m still not crazy about it.
[name]Guinevere[/name] - I like it quite a bit, and [name]Ginny[/name], [name]Gwen[/name], [name]Eve[/name]/[name]Evie[/name], [name]Neve[/name]/[name]Niamh[/name], [name]Vera[/name], and [name]Jenny[/name] are all sweet nicknames, but I prefer [name]Gwendolen[/name] or [name]Gwenore[/name] or even [name]Genevieve[/name], personally.
[name]Elisabetta[/name] - love a lot. It’s very Italian and frilly and I just adore it. I love the nns [name]Elisa[/name], [name]Elise[/name], [name]Izzy[/name], and [name]Etta[/name]. Very sweet.
[name]Orinthia[/name] - Not my thing at all, sorry. I just see Corinth, like the letter the apostle [name]Paul[/name] wrote his letter to–Corinthians.
[name]Camilla[/name] and [name]Elisabetta[/name] are my favorites!
[name]Guinevere[/name] is [name]GWIN[/name]-e-veer, I believe. I do agree that there are too many Alexandras, and I was hoping [name]Alexandria[/name] would fix that because it’s not exactly the same name. But I suppose it may be too close to fix anything. Oh well. I think, after carefully considering the names I have on this list, it’s the one I care about the least anyway. Thanks so much for your opinions!
Also, any suggestions for other names I may like, or sibling names? Any help is very much appreciated.
[name]Camilla[/name]: The sound of this name just doesnt do anything for me, it may be tainted by the royal referance.
[name]Alexandria[/name]: Very intricate and sophisticated sound. But she would probably go by [name]Alex[/name] and that name has been done to death imo.
[name]Guinevere[/name]: [name]One[/name] of my favorites! so smooth and sleek. I love its distinct but not over the top and quietude sound.
[name]Elisabetta[/name]: Second favorite of your list. It sounds very happy and girly, but can be stand its own in harsher crowds.
[name]Orinthia[/name]: The ‘[name]Orin[/name]’ start is much to harsh. It sounds like a boys name dressed up for a girl. Perhaps you may like [name]Octavia[/name], [name]Olympia[/name], [name]Odessa[/name], Ondeen? or [name]Cynthia[/name] for the similar ending?
[name]Camilla[/name] - this name screams royalty to me, not in a bad way it’s very uncommon; I like the nn [name]Milla[/name]
[name]Alexandria[/name] - this name has always appeared as a bit of a mouthful to me, but has such an abundance of nicknames, I almost forget about that, I tend to dwell on [name]Lexi[/name] or [name]Xanthe[/name].
[name]Guinevere[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] the nn [name]Gwen[/name] or maybe even [name]Vera[/name], not my style but it does roll off the tongue rather nicely.
[name]Elisabetta[/name] - this sounds gorgeous, I have never heard of this variation before. [name]Elisa[/name] would be an adorable nn. (my all time fave name is [name]Eliza[/name] lol)
[name]Orinthia[/name] - this reminds me of the biblical book Corinthians? I have never heard this name, but it appears very easy to pronounce, easier than [name]Guinevere[/name] maybe? The nn [name]Thea[/name] would be cute.
Sorry for picking out nns for everything, your original names are long and elegant
Thanks for everyone’s opinions and suggestions. I’m beginning to like [name]Alexandria[/name] and [name]Orinthia[/name] less, but [name]Camilla[/name], [name]Elisabetta[/name], and [name]Guinevere[/name] are definitely my favorite names.
grackym- I like a lot of the nns you chose for my names. For [name]Camilla[/name] I always like [name]Millie[/name] or [name]Cami[/name], for [name]Elisabetta[/name] I like [name]Tibby[/name] or [name]Elisa[/name], and for [name]Guinevere[/name] I adore [name]Gwen[/name] and [name]Vera[/name].
[name]Flick[/name]- I do like [name]Rhiannon[/name] or [name]Galatea[/name] a lot, actually.
sol- [name]One[/name] of my favorite names would have been [name]Veronica[/name] if I didn’t know someone with that name. I also adore [name]Beatrice[/name].
[name]Camilla[/name] – I don’t mind this, but it doesn’t pounce out at me as being anything outstanding.
[name]Alexandria[/name] – I have a great love for this name, especially with the nickname of [name]Andie[/name].
[name]Guinevere[/name] – Such a classy and sophisticated gem.
[name]Elisabetta[/name] – Certainly funkier than [name]Elisabeth[/name], but perhaps too much so?
[name]Orinthia[/name] – Great sound, but I can’t help but see Corinthia without the C-.
[name]Olympia[/name] – I noticed this on your signature, yet it’s not here? I love it!
[name]Camilla[/name] - I like [name]Camellia[/name] much better
[name]Alexandria[/name] - I like [name]Alexandra[/name] much better
[name]Guinevere[/name] - beautiful, but is definitely prn. [name]GWIN[/name]-eh-veer, not [name]GWEN[/name]-eh-veer, so I don’t see [name]Gwen[/name] as a suitable nn, and Guin is just as cute
[name]Elisabetta[/name] - beautiful
[name]Orinthia[/name] - feels like it’s supposed to be Corinthia
