Myra

I like [name_f]Myra[/name_f] but am worried about associations with [name_f]Myra[/name_f] Hindley (Moors murderer). What do you think?

Honestly, I think it is fine. The only association I have with [name_f]Myra[/name_f] is a girl I went to school with, and that is fairly neutral. It depends where you live though (I’m in Australia), if you are in [name_f]England[/name_f], the association might be stronger.

I never thought of the murderer, I guess it depends on your location maybe. I love the name.

I honestly don’t think people will ever think of the murderer. Although, I guess it depends on who you are, where you live, and what you know. I personally prefer the spelling [name_f]Mira[/name_f] but it still works. If the association with [name_f]Myra[/name_f] Hindley still bothers you would could always use a name ending with [name_f]Mira[/name_f]/[name_f]Myra[/name_f].

Similar Alternative:

I thought of [name_f]Myra[/name_f] Hindley right off…

If it’s any help the name [name_f]Mayra[/name_f] is nearly identically spelled, is pronounced the same, and lacks the awful association.
