I am intrigued by this name. What are your impressions, Berries? What mental imagery, associations, or feelings does this name evoke? Is it usable today? Any similar names you prefer? Ideas for middle names with [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] as a first?
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Nadia[/name_f]! It strikes me as a bit exotic, a bit athletic, and entirely gorgeous!
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f] was originally a nickname for [name_f]Nadezhda[/name_f], that means “hope” in Russian (it’s one of a few Russian word names). I think it’s a lovely name! I rarely hear it in [name_f]Russia[/name_f] today so I’d love to meet a little girl called [name_f]Nadia[/name_f]. It makes me picture a witty brunette who loves books.
I do think it’s usable.
My first thought it the gymnast [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] Comneci. Though I don’t know if she’s as much of a household name today–still many people over 30 would likely remember her.
Also, it sounds vaguely like “naughty-uh” which is what puts me off it a little.
Similar options would be [name_f]Nadine[/name_f] or [name_f]Sonia[/name_f].
I love love love [name_f]Nadia[/name_f]. Huge favorite of mine!
I can see her as a sweet, sassy and sporty blonde! I can also see her as a clever, gorgeous, and a little wild brunette!
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f] [name_f]Magdalen/name_f is pretty
[name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Nadia[/name_f]! It’s been a pretty constant favorite of mine for several years now. I never seem to be able to find a MN for it I like, but I love it as a middle! I’ve really loved [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] and [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f] [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] in the past (too trendy for me now, but I used to love that it meant “dream hope”!). I think something like [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] or [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] would be lovely, too. Or even [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]…
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f] is gorgeous and definitely usable!
I think it’s great! It’s exotic but still familiar! It seems like a very glamourous name to me but I can picture it on a girl or woman of any age.
Eh, I’m not really a fan of [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] since I knew a girl with this name and she was really a horrid person. She kind of ruined it for me.
I feel like [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] is one of those names I wouldn’t touch since I’m not Russian. It’s kind of at that point [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] was a decade ago, when it was strictly a Russian girl’s name.
My favorite variants are [name_f]Nadine[/name_f] & [name_f]Nia[/name_f].
I have loved this name ever since I heard it at school. It was a strange thing to hear a unique name then and I have always thought of it on a little girl with long, flowy hair and big brown curious eyes. The girl at my school was from Sudan and I wasn’t sure if it was a variant because of the Nah-dee-yah pronunciation that was chosen when moving here or if it was a Sudanese name, either way I adored it and she was a great friend. I definitely prefer the Nah-dee-yah pronunciation and I think it is a very cute and wearable name. The name evokes memories of fun and laughter and reminds me of the happy, friendly person I learnt it from.
I am into nature/precious stone/colour names right now so here’s a few middles from those categories. I do like [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] as a first [name_f]IMO[/name_f]

I’ve loved [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] ever since I was little and went to school with a beautiful girl with long straight brown hair, who was a star athlete.
I think it’s that lovely combination of easy to pronounce with a touch of the exotic.
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f] is pretty but I really like [name_f]Nadine[/name_f], it reminds me of Hey, [name_m]Arnold[/name_m]!
Sounds Spanish/Latin American
