I have a daughter named [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and am expecting again and adore the name [name_f]Nahla[/name_f] but are they too alike or could it still work?
Because the entire last syllable is shared, they would be too close for me, but I think it is a matter of personal preference.
[name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce [name_f]Lola[/name_f] and [name_f]Nahla[/name_f]? They both have la syllable and are two syllables each. I would keep looking.
I actually don’t think they’re too close. LO- and Nah- are different enough. They certainly will seem to be matching names, but not too close if you dont mind the matchy-ness. Only other factor to consider, is if you plan on having more kids and if you think you will feel the pressure to continue a pattern.
I agree with this.
Personally I think they’re too close (and for what it’s worth I can only ever think of the character from the [name_m]Lion[/name_m] [name_m]King[/name_m] when I hear [name_f]Nahla[/name_f]).
Of course though it’s entirely up to you, and if you feel comfortable with the matching endings then go for it!
They are close, but I don’t think its undoable
My brother and I are [name_f]Carys[/name_f] and Lewys for example lol.
I think they are very close. I might get mixed up and say [name_f]Nola[/name_f] and Lahla or something… but maybe that is just me
What about [name_f]Norah[/name_f] instead?
[name_f]Lola[/name_f] and [name_f]Norah[/name_f] xx
Yes the second syllable is the same but the first syllables are very different so I think it is a case of personal preference. If you are happy with ‘matchy’ names then go for it [name_f]Nahla[/name_f] is a lovely name even if it is definitely linked to [name_m]Lion[/name_m] [name_m]King[/name_m].
Btw [name_f]Lola[/name_f] is a gorgeous name.
I love them together! Funnily enough, a couple years ago, I was determined that if I ever had two daughters, I’d call them [name_f]Lola[/name_f] and [name_f]Nahla[/name_f].
[name_f]Lola[/name_f] is pronounced Low-lah
nahla is pronounced Nar- Lah
I suppose they do sound too alike but I must be attracted to names ending in la!
[name_f]Lola[/name_f] is pronounced Low- lah and [name_f]Nahla[/name_f] is pronounced Nar-lah so I suppose they are very alike but I guess I just love names with la on the end!!
