[name_m]Forrest[/name_m] is my favorite and [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m].

I grew up with a [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] who often heard, “like [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] Earp?” so I’m not suprised that is how your mothers react. However, [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] is much more popular today and I would imagine your child’s peers would likely know another [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] so the Earp association would probably not be top of mind for them.

I think all 4 of the names you have would work great! But here are some other suggestions too:

I like all options other than [name_m]Greyson[/name_m].
I’d go with [name_m]Charles[/name_m] rather than [name_u]Charlie[/name_u].

I adore [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]. I personally would use [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] as a stand alone. [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] is on our short list. There are plenty of men that go by [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]. No need for a “formal name”. I would never use the name [name_m]Charles[/name_m], so why put it on the birth certificate. People on baby name forums seem to be the most upset about nickname names, while many people in real life, in various professions, go by nickname names or nicknames (or for that matter their surname). Take a look of the list of names on the directory of the US House of Representatives. Representatives | house.gov

I know a few [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]'s who’s full name is [name_u]Charlie[/name_u].

[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] was once one of my top 5 names but a family member ruined it for me once they said “Why It” after that, that’s all I heard.

Distant
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]
[name_m]Greyson[/name_m] (which I also loved but I think it is going to be very dated quickly)

I had a difficult time choosing between [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] and [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]. Both are nice choices.
