I have a five year old, [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], a two year old, [name_m]Jack[/name_m], and a baby that was stillborn-[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. We are expecting another baby in august. We don’t know the sex, but I’d love to get some ideas. I would love somehow for the name to acknowledge his/her big sister, [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] that passed away. Something meaning God’s promise, gift, faithfulness, hope…etc–something like that? And also, something that would go with [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. Would love suggestions! Thank you.
First of all, I’m so sorry for your loss <3 And so happy that God blessed your family with a new little one. Hazel Elizabeth is such a beautiful name.
Lilybeth (welsh name, meaning “God’s Promise”. “Ruby, Jack & Lily” a cute combo) Elizabeth = Lilybeth
Evelyn (meaning: wisher for a child) Elizabeth = Evelyn
Lionel (meaning: little lion, faithful) Ruby, Jack & Leo
Zane (meaning: gift from God)
Dillon (faithful and true)
Theodore (meaning: gift of the Gods) Ruby, Jack & Theo <3
Mia (meaning: my, also variant of Maria, meaning: wished for)
Helga (meaning: Holy)
Carys (meaning: My loved one) my absolute favorite
Eliana (meaning: God’s answer) Elizabeth = Eliana
Samuel (meaning: the prayer for this child was answered/ God listens)
Nathan / Jonathan / Mateo / Jansen / Jonas (meaning: God’s gift)
A bit more unique first or middle names:
Wilona / Wilone (meaning: wished for)
Hansel (meaning: gift from God)
Zita (meaning apparently: seeker, little girl, little hope) love this one!
Mireille (meaning: Miracle)
Amari (meaning: a miracle from God)
I hope you find the perfect name for your beautiful baby! <3

I am so, so sorry for the loss of your [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. I think its beautiful to honor her in a subtle way with the name of this little blessing you’re growing now.
A perfect boys name would be [name_m]Zachary[/name_m], or [name_m]Zachariah[/name_m], which means “The [name_m]Lord[/name_m] remembers”. There is the obvious [name_m]Jack[/name_m]/[name_m]Zach[/name_m] confusion, but I think it could be easily avoided if you chose to use the nickname [name_m]Zeke[/name_m] instead, using [name_m]Zechariah[/name_m] as the formal first with the e spelling. This way [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is not forgotten, but always remembered in the gift of your next born.
For a girls name, I think it would be special to continue the color name trend you have (maybe accidentally) started with [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] & [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. Some suggestions to go with [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] (& [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]):
[name_f]Scarlet[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Amber[/name_f]
[name_f]Jade[/name_f]
[name_f]Sienna[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] **also means peace, & has symbolism with the dove carrying an olive branch after the flood was over with [name_u]Noah[/name_u]. This would be my pick for you.
Congratulations! I hope you experience comfort and peace as you lead up to delivery day
So sorry for your loss…
I agree with the above post. [name_f]Olive[/name_f] is a beautiful name.
After we lost [name_u]Julie[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f], we honored her memory by naming our next baby [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] [name_f]Jewel[/name_f]. Perhaps you could do something similar for [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], by taking a different form of one of her names. For example:
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Beth[/name_f]
Another idea is to incorporate the idea of a rainbow or light, to indicate a blessing or happiness after a difficult time:
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
Personally, I like [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] or [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f].
So we found out the new baby is a boy! Would love continued suggestions. Thank y’all so much for your beautiful ideas!
