Inspired by @SparkleNinja18 s post. What assumptions would you make about a parent whose kids were named as follows. What judgement, good or bad, would you make of the parent if your child’s classmates had these names?
[name_m]Draco[/name_m] [name_m]Adonis[/name_m]
[name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] [name_u]Dean[/name_u]
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u]
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] [name_m]Knight[/name_m]
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Ransom[/name_m]
[name_u]Paris[/name_u] [name_m]Kazimir[/name_m]
[name_u]Adrian[/name_u] Arkham
[name_f]Octavia[/name_f] [name_u]Reign[/name_u]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_u]Nightingale[/name_u]
[name_f]Astoria[/name_f] [name_f]Mystique[/name_f]
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] [name_u]Storm[/name_u]
I think that their parents have a unique taste in names but also like more common names. They also might be inspired by movies and mythology.
well for Ambrose Dean, i love Ambrose but with that combination i’d kinda think it was cool but also non-creative and would laugh a little because of the WWE Wrestler Dean Ambrose. at the end of the day it’s still a really cool name! idk if this was what you were looking for but i felt the need to say that lol
[name_m]Draco[/name_m] [name_m]Adonis[/name_m]- “Wow his parents must love Drake!” (first name sounds similar and his son is Adonis)
[name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] [name_u]Dean[/name_u]- “Wow his parents must love wrestling! I do like both the first and middle though!”
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u]- “Wow his parents must love to travel! Cool name!”
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] [name_m]Knight[/name_m]- "Maybe his parents liked [name_m]Bill[/name_m] [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] and [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] [name_m]Knight[/name_m]! Jk I probably wouldn’t think this. I have neutral thoughts on this one but wanted to say something…
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Ransom[/name_m]- “Very handsome name…Maybe religious parents?”
[name_u]Paris[/name_u] [name_m]Kazimir[/name_m]- “His parents chose a name they love! They don’t care if [name_u]Paris[/name_u] is more popular as a girl’s name” (I think?)
[name_u]Adrian[/name_u] Arkham- “I’ve never heard Arkham before I wonder what significance it has. [name_u]Adrian[/name_u] is a great name!”
[name_f]Octavia[/name_f] [name_u]Reign[/name_u]- “Her parents have a sophisticated style…queenly vibes and great flow”
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f]- “Her parents like classics and quirky so best of both worlds”
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_u]Nightingale[/name_u]- “Her parents like romantic names and things that give off nice aesthetics–romantic imagery”
[name_f]Astoria[/name_f] [name_f]Mystique[/name_f]- "I like [name_f]Astoria[/name_f] but paired with [name_f]Mystique[/name_f] it feels overly fantastical to me…but that’s what her parents must love!
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] [name_u]Storm[/name_u]- “Cool name! Perhaps they like Greek mythology or she was born during a storm”
I would assume that they are interested in mythology and like Harry Potter. I’d also think that they like the medieval time period and things like castles and knights. I’d think they would be a fun and interesting person. I might assume they like darker and more regal colors and probably have a more eclectic taste in music and fashion. I love all of your names!
Oh and for individual ones.
Draco Adonis- They must like mythology and Harry Potter.
Ambrose Dean- Oo they have very cool taste, they must be fun
Caspian Phoenix- They like fantasy and the color gold? This name has a very gold feeling to it for me for some reason.
Bellamy Knight- They must like the medieval time period.
Elliott Ransom- um nothing really for this one.
Paris Kazimir- Oo they must have some international ties.
Adrian Arkham- Hm they must like to combine the more classic with more daring activities and choices.
Octavia Reign- They must like more regal things and the medieval time period.
Adelaide Wednesday- They might like Addam’s Family and darker colors.
Cordelia Nightingale- oo they must like nature and history.
Astoria Mystique- They might like mysteries.
Calliope Storm- Hm, they must like mythology and nature.
These stand out to me:
Big Harry Potter fan and probably stuck up/ very sure of themselves (the parents) naming their kid Adonis.
Fantasy fan. Nothing more really.
I’d expect the parents to be well-read and have an interest in art-house films; probably (originally) from a hip place somewhere on the east coast.
I totally forgot about the wrestler lol! I only watched wrestling as a kid.
@Kittylitter I am definitely not a fan of [name_m]Drake[/name_m] so I didn’t know he had a son or that his name was [name_m]Adonis[/name_m]. Thanks for letting me know! I’ll have to rethink my combos lol
The combo is nice (they all are!) but thought I’d be honest and point that out!
With many of these I would be thrilled. You kidding? [name_u]An[/name_u] [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] instead of a [name_u]Noah[/name_u]? A [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] instead of a [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]? A [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] instead of a [name_u]James[/name_u]? Not that I dislike the more common names, but as a teacher of 3 decades plus, I want more exciting names!
And [name_f]Octavia[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] would send me over the moon and back.
The only two I dislike are [name_m]Draco[/name_m] and [name_u]Paris[/name_u]. [name_m]Draco[/name_m], I simply dislike, but [name_u]Paris[/name_u] would give me the snap judgment that the parents were pretentious, which could very well be wrong.
I don’t pay attention to middle names.
That they were brave namers - nothing negative as I like these name combos. These names aren’t cutesy and that’s refreshing, especially with girls’ names.
I would guess that you’re fairly alternative. You encourage individuality, you’re a plugged in family, and you encourage artistic interests in your kids. It’s important to you to live somewhere fairly urban or close to an urban setting. You value the input of your children, and you encourage open-minded views of the world.
I’d assume you were confident and creative parents
