I think I’m feeling pretty good about changing my name to [name_f]Margo[/name_f], but I do really love the name [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] if I have a 2nd son and I worry they’re too similar. Thoughts?
[name_f]My[/name_f] full name would be [name_f]Margo[/name_f] [name_u]Shelby[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] S–ton
[name_m]Just[/name_m] to check, other than the non-traditional spelling and length, is there any other potential problems I’m not seeing? (Choosing to spell it [name_f]Margo[/name_f] for simplicity and it looks better in my handwriting)
[name_f]Margo[/name_f] is a great name! I love this simple, punchy spelling.
[name_f]Margo[/name_f] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] are a little close but not undoable. Since you don’t know whether there will ever be a little [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] in your life, I would say focus on making the best choice for you right now, and cross the [name_f]Margo[/name_f] + [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] bridge if and when you come to it.
Margo Shelby Rose is very charming and lovely - a great choice
Hugo and Margo are similar and if I saw them as mother and son, I’d wonder if it was a deliberate honour? Still, since you’re not sibs, I think it would be okay
While there may be some people who eventually notice and wonder if it was on purpose, I definitely think they sound distinct and to me are pretty different stylistically, so I certainly think it’s doable. Also I don’t see any other issues with [name_f]Margo[/name_f].
