Name Change: What do you think of Amelia Elizabeth?

Hi friends! After being depressed for a while, I‘m ready to try out some more names to find the perfect one for me.

Here’s the combination I love most rn:

Amelia Elizabeth → Amy (nickname for now)

What do you think? Too long? Are Amelia and Elizabeth too similar? The main reason I like Elizabeth is that it opens the door for you to go by so many different nicknames, you can’t get bored.

I also wonder if [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Amy[/name_f] could be good options, depending on which name (Amelia or Elizabeth) you’d like to mine for nicknames first.

Thank you, friends. I think maybe [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] doesn’t sound as good as [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], but I’m not sure? No idea. I also like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] as another option.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] this so much! It’s classic, charming and elegant. I love the nicknames possibilities! With a classic as [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], I’d go with [name_f]Millie[/name_f] or [name_f]Amybeth[/name_f]

amelia elizabeth is beautiful! reminds me of emily elizabeth from clifford, but i don’t think that’s a negative or overwhelming association, so i wouldn’t let it steer you away.

i don’t think they’re too similar. they have a nice, almost alliterative quality without actually being the same letters. to me, amelia and elizabeth are a good combo of modern and classic with lots of nicknames coming from both!! amy is super cute, and you also get a lot of other good nicknames from amelia (meals, melia, milly, lia, etc). you’ll probably get called nicknames of amelia rather than elizabeth, so definitely think about that if the main reason you like elizabeth is for the shorter forms. but you do still absolutely get to set your own preferred nickname, so you could totally pick a short form of elizabeth if you wanted to! it’s such a pretty name all around, best of luck choosing!
