Name change?

About my own name! I’m called Mili - no reason, other than my parents wanted a different spelling…

Anyway, I have been wondering for quite some time if I should change it/add anything on to it. I’d still go by my current name when talking to others etc, it just might be nice to have a longer official name as I feel like mine looks a bit like a nickname and not all too keen. Correcting people of the spelling all the time is also a bit of a pain.

My parents aren’t offended - my mum actually has said she’d probably spell my name differently or give me a longer name if she had the chance to do it again!

I go to college in the next few months so it would be easy to change then in a new environment, if I was going to at all.

Basically…

What do you think to the idea?

Anyone had any similar experience with an issue alike mine?

What do you think to the names: [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], [name_f]Amilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Amilie[/name_f]?

Thanks all

Hmm, I would go with [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]! I wouldn’t used a spelling like [name_f]Amilia[/name_f] or Amile, because no one is going to get that right and it doesn’t look like it’s spelled correctly! Good luck!

This is what I was going to say too! You could also use another variant like [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]. [name_f]Milena[/name_f] would also get you to Mili. I read a book with a [name_f]Milly[/name_f] whose full name is [name_f]Emily[/name_f], I thought that was really clever but [name_f]Emily[/name_f] is so popular, if that’s an issue for you.

Alternatively, if you like your name but the spelling issues are bothering you, you could just change it to [name_f]Millie[/name_f] or [name_f]Milly[/name_f]. [name_f]Millie[/name_f] especially is fairly popular in the UK so people won’t automatically assume it’s a nickname, and they look more “complete” than Mili to me.

I love the name [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]! I wouldn’t use unusual spellings like [name_f]Amilia[/name_f] if you already dislike correcting people on the spelling. I think the nickname Mili for [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is really pretty.

I like [name_f]Emilia[/name_f].

I love Mili. Keep your gorgeous name.

[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is stunning. I also know a [name_f]Millie[/name_f] whose formal name is [name_f]Camilla[/name_f]…I love that!

[name_f]Romilly[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Melia[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is my favorite!
