Hi all! My eldest is Edward (Teddy) and his middle name is his father’s name. We are due in the new year and we have a shortlist. Im looking at these combinations…
I want Robert for a first name (it’s a family name from my side) but not sure I can get hubs over the line.
Might have to be middle name. Anyway, thoughts? We have a lot of traditional/classic/formal English names in our family.
Robert James / Robby James
Robert Louis
Robert Harry
Louis Robert
James Robert (Jamie Robert)
Harry Robert
Thoughts??? What would you shorten Robert to for a baby??? Bobby? Robby? Thanks
[name_f]My[/name_f] father and brother are named [name_u]Robert[/name_u] [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] and [name_u]Robert[/name_u] [name_m]Eugene[/name_m]. [name_f]My[/name_f] father goes by [name_m]Rob[/name_m] and my brother goes by [name_u]Robbie[/name_u], which I think sounds better for a baby. Some ideas I have:
I think Bertie is a very cute nickname for a Robert.
Would you or your husband consider Robin in place of Robert?
I think all of your name combos sound nice, personal preference draws me to Louis Robert. Here are a few ideas…
Nathaniel Robert
Henry Robert
Alexander Robert
Robert Errol
Robert Alistair
Robert Felix
[name_u]Robby[/name_u], [name_u]Bobby[/name_u] or [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] are all sweet on a little boy! In the first name spot my favourite is [name_u]Robert[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u], and in the second name spot my favourite is [name_m]Louis[/name_m] [name_u]Robert[/name_u].
What about [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_u]Robert[/name_u] (nn Harry)? That would be on the top of my list!
[name_u]Robert[/name_u] [name_m]Louis[/name_m] is lovely, it feels incredibly timeless and yet [name_m]Louis[/name_m] makes the name feel really current!
Personally, I really like [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_u]Robert[/name_u]
