[name_u]Happy[/name_u] Valentines [name_u]Day[/name_u] everyone! In the past few weeks I have been working hard at picking a new name. I’ve finally narrowed it down to three names, two different combinations. (If you’ve seen my other posts, I decided against [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] because it wasn’t “flowing” well with the other names, and it kept being mispronounced online).
Contenders:
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Catalina[/name_f]
[name_f]Catalina[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- [name_f]Claire[/name_f] won’t ever be mispronounced
- [name_u]Love[/name_u] the way it sounds
- I feel comfortable with people calling me [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
- It’s an alliterative name
- Catchy
- Good blend of modern and classic
- [name_m]Even[/name_m] though there’s no nicknames, there is “claire cat” and others
Cons:
- [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is so popular and may be seen as boring
- I could be missing out on using a more unique first name
[name_f]Catalina[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- The first name is beautiful and unique
- Flows really well
- Catchy
- Very islandy and carefree
- I could be “cat” for short
- More unique than [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
Cons:
- Not alliterative (I wanted a double C name)
- I have seen [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] as a predominantly Spanish name and I don’t want to culturally appropriate this name as a white person
I definitely want a memorable, catchy name, which I think these both are. But in your opinion, which is the standout? [name_u]Poll[/name_u] Below!
- [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f]
- [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Catalina[/name_f]
