My husband and I have struggled to name our daughter who is now 15 months.
We have finally settled on [name_f]Aleksandra[/name_f] which is a family name. I am looking for a nickname because it is a longer name and I don’t like [name_u]Aleks[/name_u].
My niece is [name_f]Alexia[/name_f] and goes by [name_u]Lexi[/name_u] so she can’t be [name_u]Lexi[/name_u]. Is Sahsa too much of a stretch? Should we just stick with [name_f]Ally[/name_f]? Is it too close to her cousins name and we should choose something totally different?
Any thoughts would be appreciated - my baby is in need of a name!
I think [name_u]Sasha[/name_u] is a very intuitive choice because it’s often used as a short form of [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]/[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] in [name_f]Russia[/name_f] (which you probably know). I also think [name_f]Sandra[/name_f] could be a really lovely nickname.
So I vote [name_u]Sasha[/name_u] or [name_f]Sandra[/name_f]. That way it sounds nothing like your niece
