I have two daughters [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Antoinette[/name_f] (no nickname) and [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Millie[/name_f]). I don’t know if we are having a boy or girl next, but I am at a loss for what to name either. If it’s a boy I would love to use [name_u]James[/name_u] (my dad) as the middle since [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] is named after my FIL [name_m]William[/name_m] and his mother [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - just have to get DH on board with this idea at a later date. I’m not totally sure what direction to go with a boys name to fit with the sibling set. I love an Italian, but not too Italian sounding name - although my husband might not agree : / My current favorite is [name_m]Francesco[/name_m] nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] - DH is totally anti… but [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] is so cute to me - not sure if belongs with the two girls though as a name. I just can’t go with a [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] (another favorite, but my cousin recently used it). Any thoughts would be great! : ) thanks
edited to add: another choice I love is [name_m]Lucian[/name_m], but that is my cousins FIL so that might also be awkward for me - just as an idea of what I like, since I am not even sure what it is I like… nothing too unusual for boys though.
If your husband is not a huge fan of [name_m]Francesco[/name_m], you could always try something like [name_u]Francis[/name_u] - it doesn’t have the same Italian feel to it, but you could get away with using your nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]!
Some other suggestions:
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Andreas[/name_m]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]
[name_m]Bruno[/name_m]
[name_m]Carlos[/name_m]
[name_m]Dominic[/name_m]
[name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] ([name_m]Leo[/name_m])
[name_m]Matteo[/name_m] (could shorten it to [name_m]Matt[/name_m]/[name_u]Matty[/name_u] if you wanted - although I feel like that takes away some of the romance and difference from the name)
[name_m]Raphael[/name_m]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m]
[name_m]Marco[/name_m]/[name_m]Marcus[/name_m]
[name_u]Luca[/name_u]
[name_m]Tobias[/name_m]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
I know most of those names are not specifically Italian sounding, but hopefully it helps anyways!
[name_u]Frankie[/name_u] is an adorable nickname; you could always use [name_u]Francis[/name_u] (as lozzalizzy suggested) or [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] for the nickname if your husband can’t get on board with [name_m]Francesco[/name_m]. [name_m]Franco[/name_m] is a more italian sounding option too; although there’s an actor named [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Franco[/name_m], so you might want to consider that if you lean toward [name_m]Franco[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u].
I would suggest [name_u]Francis[/name_u] for your little boy. I think it goes very well with [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] and it’s perfect for you since you love [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]. Another option is [name_m]Franklin[/name_m], which I adore because of the childrens’ book series with [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] the turtle.
Other names I think would work well for you: [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_u]Maurice[/name_u], [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m], [name_m]Gregory[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Vincent[/name_m], [name_m]Timothy[/name_m], [name_m]Anthony[/name_m], [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] or [name_m]Edward[/name_m], [name_m]Frederic[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_m]Benedict[/name_m].
I like the above suggestions as a way to get to [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] and I would definitely keep [name_m]Lucian[/name_m] in the running. Your cousin’s father-in-law’s name seems so far removed from being considered one of YOUR family, that I would definitely keep it in the running. It is an established name and not a uniquely spelled one-of name anyway so it would not seem as if you were honouring him.
