We just found out we’re having a girl, and I’m so excited! I have a top three list, but I’m having trouble eliminating anything because I like them all so much. I’m so stumped that I’ve started looking at names again, which I told myself I wasn’t going to do. My son and daughter’s name are below, in my signature. As you can see, I like to choose names that are a little offbeat. Comments and/or thoughts on my list?
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
[name_f]Corinne[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] ([name_f]Corinne[/name_f] is giving me some second thoughts because I actually have to think a moment to remember how to spell it, so I have a feeling it will get misspelled constantly…)
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]
I really like [name_f]Olive[/name_f]. My second favorite is [name_f]Imogen[/name_f].
With [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] I feel like you will have both pronunciation and spelling problems and I’m not sure it’s worth it; however, if you love it, I think it would make a great middle name!
I absolutely love your daughter’s name! I like [name_f]Olive[/name_f] best and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] second. I do think [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] would involve some hassle with spelling, etc. and I might be inclined to go with [name_f]Cora[/name_f] instead.
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] is my favorite for you! I think she’s the perfect little sister for [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f].
[name_f]Corinne[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is fine, and I like [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] a lot. I work with one, and it’s a very sweet name that doesn’t have a ton of use, but I’ve just always preferred it as a middle, so I like [name_f]Olive[/name_f] a little bit better than that one. [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] I’ve always tried to appreciate, but it’s not quite my cup of tea (although [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] is GORGEOUS!), and [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] is just so perfect with [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f]–it seems like the perfect stylistic choice!
I am gonna say something very unpopular on nameberry… [name_f]Olive[/name_f] is way way way too popular even w non name nerdy. I have met 10 baby olives it’s the next [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]. For that reason I would go w [name_f]Imogen[/name_f].
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] stands out for me. [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] is also lovely and in the middle spot eliminates the spelling and pronunciation concerns as others don’t use our middle names.
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] are both darling names! I love the look of [name_f]Corinne[/name_f], but I’m not too keen on the sound. [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] is my favorite from the three with [name_f]Olive[/name_f] running a close second.
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] is beautiful, and perfect with her sister’s name. [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] is also wonderful.
[name_f]Corinne[/name_f] is a lovely name too but feels like a different era from your other two, and if you’re struggling with spelling yourself then I wouldn’t go there.
Thank you all for your feedback and sweet comments! We now have eliminated [name_f]Corinne[/name_f], so that helps to have it down to 2. It’s going to be a tough decision, but i feel better having narrowed it down a little
I vote [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]. It has a similar quirky vintage vibe to [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. I’m not a fan of [name_f]Olive[/name_f] because it is so wordy. I also know a lot of people who don’t like the food, I don’t know if that matters. [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] I like but agree it is not quite the same vintage feel of [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and [name_u]James[/name_u]. I don’t think the spelling or pronunciation would be a problem in the US though.
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] are my favourites. If I could mix and match, [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] would be amazing.
Oh, [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] is charming & unexpected. Very pretty! I love it with [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f]!
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]! What a lovely pairing. I’m not a huge [name_f]Olive[/name_f] fan, so for me it’s [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] all the way.
Either [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] or [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] would be my choice, with a slight preference for [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]. I don’t think [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] is nearly as pretty as [name_f]Olive[/name_f] or [name_f]Imogen[/name_f].
