Name for a new rescue dog

We have a new pup joining us and need help deciding a name for him.

We already have two cats, [name_u]Pepper[/name_u] & [name_u]Dusty[/name_u] and I want something that ‘fits’ with them.

Current contenders are [name_u]Murphy[/name_u], [name_m]Moss[/name_m], [name_m]Otis[/name_m] or [name_m]Griff[/name_m].

I’d love to hear any other ideas though.

[name_m]Moss[/name_m] would be perfect

[name_m]Moss[/name_m] would fit in with the wordy, unusual kind of vibe, it’s so cute but not in the traditional way that snuggles & biscuits & mittens are it’s quirkily cute and I love that.

[name_f]My[/name_f] vote is for [name_m]Griff[/name_m]! Distinctive but pairs well!

Other suggestions:

[name_m]Glover[/name_m]
[name_m]Opie[/name_m]
[name_m]Taz[/name_m]
[name_m]Rupert[/name_m] “Rue” for short
[name_m]Kix[/name_m]
[name_u]Wiley[/name_u]
Spud or Spuds

Hopefully these help!

I like Griff! It complements and balances the other names (they all have own starting and ending letters) and it’s a great name for a dog - the meaning is superb. Moss if you want to keep the word names but I think Griff is better to yell out at the park. Maybe even Griffin nn Griff to keep the syllable counts the same. I like Otis but it’s too much a dog name for me, and Murphy doesn’t seem to relate as much to the others, plus the repeat Y ending isn’t a plus for me when means one doesn’t have it. I say go for Griff!

Some ideas:
[name_m]Flint[/name_m]
[name_m]Brick[/name_m]
[name_m]Cole[/name_m]
[name_u]Rocco[/name_u]
[name_u]Beau[/name_u]

Thanks all!

[name_f]My[/name_f] partner has decided he isn’t so keen on [name_m]Moss[/name_m], but I quite like the idea of sticking to the ‘things’ name theme - I’m just finding it hard for boys names.

Probably worth adding that he is a white dog and that we will also be getting a male rescue cat in about 6 weeks (crazy, I know) who will also need a name.
