I’m in a little bit of a name dilemma here. I need name ideas for this character living in the early 1900s!
He is in his early twenties and is living on his own ever since he left his father’s house at 18. Since then, he has been working hard to make a living on his own, and slowly worked his way up from nothing to a respected position. This experience made him wiser and a bit cynical, as he does not have fantasies about how the world is. He’s lived in the real world. He knows what it’s like to be at rock bottom. He has great intellect, he is very attractive in appearance, and he’s industrious, but unfortunately, he does have an attitude. He could be very stubborn, condescending, cold, and moody.
This is the kind of character who lays awake at night asking himself deep questions about life, what the meaning of it is, and what he’s fighting for. He is caught between 2 philosophies: existentialism (life has no meaning, no higher authority, an individual must decide what’s right or wrong) or the belief in God. Usually, it ends up with him being really frustrated that he doesn’t have answers.
[name_m]Luke[/name_m] is a thinker, not a talker, and he has no patience for stupid people, and he is very blunt and rude. Nevertheless, when you really get to know him he is beautiful because his brain is a masterpiece of complex and unfinished thoughts, filled with worlds of imagination. He’ll be fiercely loyal and protective once he sees you’re worth it, once he lets you pass the wall guarding his heart. When he’s with his little sister, he shows all the qualities that he hides, such as his kindness, imagination, and sense of humor; which explains why his sister worships him 
Aah sorry for all this text, I often get carried away with my character descriptions…
The point is that I need a name that works with him. I’ve been calling him [name_m]Luke[/name_m], but that’s because I didn’t like him when I first created him. I don’t mind the name now, but given the fact he was born and raised somewhere in northern Europe (Like Norway, [name_u]Sweden[/name_u], Finland, Iceland, Poland, etc.), it doesn’t fit right.
I was thinking of [name_m]Soren[/name_m]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think that works? Please put down names that a) make you think of this character or b) are northern European.
