[name_m]Hi[/name_m]. I am adopting a 4 year old, male black cat from a rescue; he comes home tomorrow! His current name is [name_m]Rambo[/name_m], which I am not fond of. He looks like a tough street cat because the tip of one ear is missing (catch and release) but he is the sweetest, most affectionate cat I’ve ever known (jumped and licked all over me the moment he met me!), so I would like a name that fits his personality better. All suggestions welcome!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there. Aww Congrats with the cat. he is so adorable. I had a black cat, myself, but he passed away few yrs ago. he had a very personal name: Gollum Vildsnude Højlun Bellepsen. All his names had arisen via personal connections to him.
Suggestions: BULLY ~ or BAGHEERA ( from the panther in the Jungle Book) … or named after the strong warrior In Greek mythology, [name_m]ACHILLES[/name_m]… then his nickname could be ACHI !! OR perhaps [name_m]HERCULES[/name_m], the strong one, the first “superhero” in the world. Or [name_m]ZEUS[/name_m], the all father of the [name_m]Olympus[/name_m]. Or God of mischief in Norse mythology, [name_m]LOKE[/name_m]. Sorry to bring up so many God-names… they just come to mind when seeing and reading about your cat. I will also suggest [name_m]LOUIE[/name_m] , just because it’s cute and seems to fit your cat, too. Or [name_m]BYRON[/name_m], after the poet who was also living life on the wild side.
I hope you find my suggestions helpful-
I may return with more suggestions some other day, if you are still not sure.
Best,

If he already comes to [name_m]Rambo[/name_m], it’d be wise to stick to a similar name - such as a name that ends in ‘o’ or a name that has two syllables or the ‘am’ sound, or begins with an R. I’ve already digressed this enough, but you get it.
If he doesn’t respond to [name_m]Rambo[/name_m] at all, you can change his name all you want! This depends entirely on the cat, as changing it’s name entirely if it has already learned to respond to [name_m]Rambo[/name_m] could confuse it.
I love the greek theme, but most greek gods did more bad then good and were pretty territorial and hostile. Up to you. [name_m]Apollo[/name_m], [name_m]Aries[/name_m], and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] have a cute, fun feel to it.
