Name for brothers

I have a son named [name_m]Charlton[/name_m] and a son named [name_u]George[/name_u]. Both family names. We have run out of good family names and are considering [name_m]Bardrick[/name_m]. I love old people names and virtue names (but my husband does not. Thoughts on [name_m]Bardrick[/name_m] and any name suggestions welcome

[name_m]Bardrick[/name_m] is interesting and unexpected.

I’ll suggest:

[name_m]Benson[/name_m]
[name_m]Truman[/name_m]
[name_u]Arthur[/name_u]
[name_u]Lincoln[/name_u]
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_u]Franklin[/name_u]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]

I’ve never heard of [name_m]Bardrick[/name_m] but [name_u]Ricky[/name_u] makes an adorable nicname!
I like old man nicknames so maybe some of these your hubby will like:

[name_m]Art[/name_m]
[name_m]Ford[/name_m]
[name_m]Walt[/name_m]
[name_m]Fitz[/name_m]
[name_m]Kent[/name_m]
[name_m]Hart[/name_m]
[name_u]Reed[/name_u]
[name_m]Clark[/name_m]
[name_m]Yates[/name_m]
[name_m]Gabe[/name_m]

Longer form names:

[name_m]Bertram[/name_m]
[name_u]Merritt[/name_u]
[name_u]Hartford[/name_u]
[name_u]Gable[/name_u]

Good luck

[name_m]Bardrick[/name_m] is very unexpected, especially after a classic like [name_u]George[/name_u]. But it has some of the same flair as [name_m]Charlton[/name_m], so go for it if it’s the name you both love.

Other ideas:

[name_m]Albert[/name_m]
[name_m]Donald[/name_m]
[name_m]Doug[/name_m]
[name_u]Douglas[/name_u]
[name_u]Edward[/name_u]
[name_u]Henry[/name_u]
[name_u]Rory[/name_u]
[name_u]William[/name_u]
[name_m]Woodrow[/name_m]

For [name_m]Bardrick[/name_m], you’ve got the obvious [name_u]Barry[/name_u] and [name_m]Rick[/name_m].

I could also stretch it to [name_m]Derrick[/name_m].

Other possible nicknames: [name_m]Arty[/name_m], [name_m]Arik[/name_m], [name_m]Brick[/name_m], [name_m]Brad[/name_m].

I feel like bardrick doesn’t have the same classic feeling as [name_u]George[/name_u] and [name_m]Charlton[/name_m] but still very cute for sure. If you like it but husband doesn’t maybe you could settle on [name_u]Ricky[/name_u] or [name_m]Richard[/name_m]?
Some of my favourite classic/old boy names are:

[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
Alfred/ [name_u]Alfie[/name_u]
[name_u]Henry[/name_u]
[name_m]Harold[/name_m]
[name_m]Ralph[/name_m]
[name_u]Stanley[/name_u]
[name_m]Chester[/name_m]
[name_u]Campbell[/name_u]
[name_u]Blake[/name_u]
[name_m]Luke[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m]

Sorry I didn’t write the question well. He doesn’t like virtue names. He loves the name [name_m]Bardrick[/name_m]. I like unique classic names and family names which is how we got the first 2 names  it’s hard to bridge the gap between [name_m]Charlton[/name_m] and [name_u]George[/name_u] w/o sounding like one of the names doesn’t fit

[name_m]Bardrick[/name_m] on paper with the nickname [name_m]Bard[/name_m] could work.

I dislike [name_m]Bardrick[/name_m], sorry. It doesn’t sound like an old man or virtue name, more a jarring version of the Blackadder character. Many people would think it’s made up. [name_u]George[/name_u] and [name_m]Charleton[/name_m] a much nicer names to give your children and very good choices. Suggest [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] - a great underused old-man classic, with many nickname options and matches with the brothers. [name_u]Arthur[/name_u], [name_u]Walter[/name_u] and [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] are also good suggestions.

I love the meaning of [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] but don’t like [name_m]Fred[/name_m] or [name_u]Freddy[/name_u] and I don’t like [name_m]Derick[/name_m] either as a nickname so it seems like a no go unfortunately

Is there a lighthouse in main named that? :joy:

Could you consider using [name_m]Fritz[/name_m] or [name_m]Fitz[/name_m] as the nickname.
