Name for Charlie

[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] is a family name I want to make feminine. I was thinking [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], but is that too close to her cousin [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]?

I think it would only be an issue of confusion if the two cousins are around each other all the time, or your families are extremely close. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is lovely.

Other options might be [name_f]Charlize[/name_f] or another name descended from [name_m]Carolus[/name_m] (the Latin form of [name_m]Charles[/name_m]): [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Carly[/name_f], [name_f]Carol[/name_f], [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]…

I don’t think they are too close, but you can always use [name_f]Charlize[/name_f] or [name_f]Charleen[/name_f] if it bothers you.

if you’re going to call her [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] (or another nickname), then I would say it really doesn’t matter. If you’re going to call her [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] it is close, but cousins… it could still work. how often do you see her? does [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] go by a nickname? would her parents have a problem with the names sounding close?

They might be a bit too close, but I wouldn’t say it would be a deal breaker. However, [name_f]Charlize[/name_f] would be a nice alternative! [name_f]Carla[/name_f] and [name_f]Carly[/name_f] are also forms of the name [name_m]Charles[/name_m]/[name_u]Charlie[/name_u].
