Name for main character

I am currently writing a book about a girl (17-18) who tries to solve a 15-year-old cold case about a young woman (19). The woman’s name is [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_u]Laine[/name_u]. The girl’s name is [name_f]Roxy[/name_f] [name_u]Vega[/name_u], but I am currently wondering about changing it. She is mixed-race (Spanish/Caucasian) with olive skin, brown hair, and brown eyes. She is brave, smart, and kind, but also snappy. She has very low patience for nonsense, stubborn as a goat, and hard-headed. Her father is an abusive drunk, and she eventually leaves her home because he has forced her to basically be a servant in her own home. I was thinking about changing her name to something symbolic; a name that means “rising from the ashes”, “overcomer” or something to that effect, if you know what I am trying to say. If you think this is a good idea, please give me some name advice and feel free to ask me more questions about the book if it will help. Let me know if I should stick with [name_f]Roxy[/name_f], and if I should change it, what I should change it to.

“[name_f]Roxy[/name_f]” is actually a variant of [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]/Roxana, which means “dawn”. I like this because dawns symbolize new beginnings, which is kind of like “rising from the ashes”. [name_f]Roxy[/name_f] is a great name!
[name_f]Kia[/name_f] - [name_u]New[/name_u] beginnings
[name_f]Nyssa[/name_f] - [name_u]New[/name_u] beginning
[name_f]Renata[/name_f] - Reborn
[name_f]Renee[/name_f] - Reborn
[name_f]Senara[/name_f] - [name_f]Dawn[/name_f]
[name_f]Zora[/name_f] - [name_f]Dawn[/name_f]
Tesha - Survivor
[name_f]Jaelyn[/name_f] - Survivor
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helped. Best of luck!

I am reminded of [name_u]Fenix[/name_u] as a variation of [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u]. I also think [name_f]Roxy[/name_f] works as @olympia.michelle says. [name_f]Roxy[/name_f] is a name with pizzazz - she sounds like she won’t take any nonsense and would rise to the challenges of making a better life for herself.
There’s also the name [name_f]Dagney[/name_f] meaning ‘new day’.
I really like the sound of your book by the way!

Thanks for all of the help! I think I have decided on [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] [name_m]Donovan[/name_m]! Not only is it a beautiful name, but it Is also unique enough to stand out, but not too unique to break the realism of the book. [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] means “dawn,” [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] means “warrior,” and [name_m]Donovan[/name_m] means “black,” so her name means “dawn battling darkness,” which is symbolism of her struggle throughout the book. However, if you still have any name ideas, please feel free to let me know
