[name_f]Daenerys[/name_f] [name_m]Aurelius[/name_m]
[name_u]Nick[/name_u] name [name_u]Dani[/name_u]
What does everyone think?
I’m not a huge fan of the name [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f] - it fits well in the Game of Thrones world, but considering how raunchy the series and TV show are, that isn’t something I’d want to be associated with my child. I like the name [name_m]Aurelius[/name_m]/[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] though! And [name_u]Dani[/name_u] is a cute nickname although I prefer it for something else.
Not a fan of [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f]. Like the previous poster said, it’s too associated with a not for kids TV show that will most likely have ended and be considered past news by the time your daughet is 10.
If you like the nickname [name_u]Dani[/name_u] what about [name_f]Daniella[/name_f], [name_f]Danica[/name_f], [name_f]Diana[/name_f] or [name_u]Delaney[/name_u]? Or if you like [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f]’ sound there are [name_u]Day[/name_u], [name_f]Eris[/name_f], [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f], [name_u]Damaris[/name_u] and [name_f]Delilah[/name_f].
[name_m]Aurelius[/name_m] is a boy name to me but I love [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]!
I’m fan of [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f], but strongly dislike the middle. [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f] [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] would be very pretty.
Despite its presence in pop culture the moment, I think [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f] would be butchered to death and mispronounced her entire life.
I’ve no issue with the first name, though it isn’t my favorite, it is pretty. I don’t like [name_m]Aurelius[/name_m] as the middle. I’d choose a middle with a different ending than the first name to compliment the different sounds.

No idea how to pronounce that
I would definitely use [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] instead of [name_m]Aurelius[/name_m] as a middle. [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] is beautiful and relatively well known, and both names ending in “S” is kind of distracting in an already unusual name.
Honestly, I do not like this name.
[name_f]Daenerys[/name_f] has no etymology (unlike Tolkien-invented characters), it looks like random letters assembled to produce a certain sound. I suggest [name_f]Danae[/name_f].
[name_m]Aurelius[/name_m] is a boys name. [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] is the girl version. They are clearly and traditionally gendered, so I wouldn’t use the specifically male version.
If you don’t like [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], I’d suggest [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], [name_f]Aura[/name_f], [name_f]Aurore[/name_f] (the [name_m]French[/name_m] version) or perhaps [name_u]Ariel[/name_u].
I love [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f], but that’s because I like the character so much. I agree there will probably be some pronunciation issues.
I’m not a huge fan of [name_m]Aurelius[/name_m] for the middle, though. I like [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]! Also second the suggestion of [name_f]Aurora[/name_f].
Honestly, I think [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f] would make your child forever associated with Game of Thrones, and not in a good way. But, that is coming from someone who read 2.5 of the books, watched season 1, and decided never to go back to it. It would make me eye roll if I heard this name on the playground, even though it is quite pretty as a name in itself. It would come off to me as being trendy and indicate to me that her parents were obsessed w/ GoT. I would also suggest you consider how well the name will age. [name_m]Will[/name_m] your child forever want to be associated with a pop culture reference that she may not even like? I know that many people name children after book characters, but often times those names have other historical/etymological roots that [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f] does not have.
All of that being said, this was not meant to make you feel bad about loving the name. I agree, it is beautiful sounding, and if you truly love it, then ignore people like me and choose it
I really don’t know about [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f], it’ll be hard for people not in the loop to pronounce and those in the loop may make fun of her
