We are expecting our third child. We have chosen to keep the gender a surprise so we need both a girl and a boy name. Our daughter’s name is [name_u]Rio[/name_u] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] and our son is [name_m]Costa[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]. My husband is from [name_f]Spain[/name_f] so our “theme” for the first two has been spanish “nature” names ([name_u]Rio[/name_u] means [name_u]River[/name_u] and [name_m]Costa[/name_m] means coast) We want to continue that theme without it being to hippie or out-there. I was thinking about [name_f]Luna[/name_f] for a girl as it means moon but we don’t like how popular it is. Any suggestions?
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] is beautiful, I like it. But the first girl name I thought about when I read [name_u]Rio[/name_u] and [name_m]Costa[/name_m], was [name_f]Mar[/name_f] (Sea). [name_f]Mar[/name_f] is quite “normal” as a name. [name_f]Concha[/name_f] (shell) could be an option, but I know it doesn’t have good meaning in [name_f]Argentina[/name_f]. [name_m]Sol[/name_m] would be also nice. [name_f]Coral[/name_f] too.
For boys:
[name_f]Azul[/name_f] (althought it can be unisex)
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] with your other children’s names! It’s climbed the popularity charts, but it’s not everywhere yet. Actually, the fact that it’s becoming more mainstream keeps [name_f]Luna[/name_f] from feeling too “out there,” since you want to avoid that.
Other ideas: [name_f]Brisa[/name_f], [name_f]Paloma[/name_f], [name_f]Perla[/name_f] or [name_u]Sierra[/name_u] for a girl; [name_u]Montana[/name_u] for a boy.
I love your children’s names! [name_f]Luna[/name_f] is a beautiful name, I wouldn’t worry too much about popularity as it’s nothing like top 10 or close! I think [name_m]Sol[/name_m] is a lovely suggestion, also [name_f]Azul[/name_f].
[name_f]Cala[/name_f]
[name_m]Cielo[/name_m]
[name_f]Dia[/name_f] (means “day”, not sure if that counts as a nature name?)
[name_f]Joya[/name_f]
[name_m]Leon[/name_m]
[name_f]Tierra[/name_f]
[name_m]Zafiro[/name_m]
