In the short story I’m writing just for fun, I have a character that’s a friend of the main one. For some reason I’m ridiculously stuck on her name though…I want her to have a very normal name because of irony, but then I want her to have an out-there nickname, such as [name_f]Swan[/name_f].
She’s caucasian, and wishes she was [name_m]French[/name_m]. She shaved her head down to the scalp in the name of fashion. Boring brown eyes, thick eyebrows (think [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] Hepburn), high cheekbones.
She’s an extremely creative soul, but it is mostly because of her bipolar disorder, which she’s been hospitalized for a few times. She plays piano and ukulele and composes a few of her own things. She’s really talented in an off-beat way, but doesn’t realize or believe it. Her mental illness is what leads to her tragic downfall. Very thin even though she eats a ton. She models for fun but isn’t ever accepted by big modeling careers though, only alternative things because she has many scars all over her thighs and a few on her forearms.
She’s extremely shy, it used to be paralyzing when she was younger but now she has learned to fake it til she makes it and pretends she’s not scared, even though deep down she’s terrified. She’s a total sweetheart but can be very blunt. If you ask for her opinion, you’re going to get her opinion. However, she’s also very accepting and open-minded.
You would typically see her wearing ripped jeans, a T-shirt, a military or leather jacket, and depending on her mood either [name_m]Doc[/name_m] Martens combat boots or [name_m]Valentino[/name_m] Rockstud heels and designer jewelry. Her nails are a nude color and almond shaped, for makeup she highlights a lot, wears thick black eyeliner, and nude lipstick or lipgloss. She’s very high-maintenance but wouldn’t ever say that.
She works her ass off but still doesn’t make enough to buy all she wants…so she’s developed a bad habit of shoplifting makeup, clothes, and accessories.
She starts out living in a small, made-up country neighborhood that she hates but ends up moving to Tampa, [name_f]Florida[/name_f] with her fiancee for school. I’m not exactly sure what she’ll major in yet, but I wanted to give an unexpected twist and have her be some sort of scientist. She’s extremely ambitious and there’s no room for failure in her mind - which is what ironically sets her up for failure.
ANYTHING can help! I had friends say [name_f]Mia[/name_f] and [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f], but still none of those seem to fit! I liked Lou and Wolf, but I have a family friend named Lou and my friend’s significant other’s nickname is Wolf…even though I’m not close to either of them I feel uncomfortable using them because of this. The berries do seem to be the experts, so I’m hoping you can help me out!
