[name]Hi[/name] Nameberry. I am a long-time fan but this is my first post. Last week my husband and I received the sad news that one of our identical twin girls had passed away at 25 weeks gestation, cause unknown. The other twin is still healthy and I hope to be able to carry her to term. Our twins shared a placenta, making them very high risk, and since there are no apparent medical explanations as to why we lost her, we truly believe that perhaps she had to pass away in order to ensure that her twin sister could survive. I would like to choose a name for our girl who has passed that honors this sacrifice and that indicates that she is and will continue to look over her sister. Would love to know if there are any modern names that may have a fitting meaning. We have a name chosen for our other girl, but would like to keep that private until her birth. Thank you in advance for your help.
I should tell you that nameberry have troll infestation at the moment who invents fake miscarriage, death of a child, infertility, etc… There’s much more fake twins. Can you assure us you’re not a troll?
Yes I can assure you this is not a fake story. [name]How[/name] terrible someone would do that.
I’m sorry for your loss, love.
[name]Willa[/name] means resolute protection.
[name]Ramona[/name] means wise protector.
[name]Anna[/name] and [name]Hannah[/name] mean grace.
[name]Alexandra[/name] means defender.
[name]Constance[/name] means steadfast.
[name]Alice[/name] means noble.
[name]Ada[/name] also means noble.
[name]Adele[/name] means noble woman.
[name]Adelaide[/name] means noble.
It is true that there have been a lot of fake stories lately. But I believe that your story is plausible, and even if it weren’t true then perhaps the thread could help someone else who’s in the same situation.
I’m very sorry for your loss.
[name]Eva[/name] means giver of life.
Simra means memory.
[name]Audrey[/name] means noble strength.
[name]Angel[/name] or any variation of (there are versions of this in many languages, some of which sound rather different such as [name]Arella[/name] or Tevy)
Wishing you comfort, and health for you and your little girl.
[name]Alexandra[/name] or [name]Alexis[/name] mean to help or defend
Thank you thank you! I love these suggestions, especially [name]Willa[/name] and [name]Eva[/name] for their beautiful meanings. I would give anything to report that this story wasn’t true, but unfortunately it is and your replies are very helpful!
I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve miscarried multiple times, and I have to say that you are doing a very wise thing by naming your little lost one. Especially as time goes on, it seems that I am the only one that remembers my babies, but since they have names, it makes it easier to keep them as individuals in my heart. My best wishes for you to find peace.
I’m truly terrible at name meanings…different sources assert different stories. I never know what to believe. That said
[name]Theora[/name] (which might mean ‘watcher’)
[name]Mitra[/name] (which might mean ‘angel’)
[name]Gilda[/name] (which might mean ‘a woman of sacrifice’)
[name]Gemina[/name] meaning ‘twin’
I’m so sorry for your loss. You could name her [name]Mia[/name] [name]Angelina[/name], which means “my little angel”.
I work in the Labor and Delivery part of the hospital. There was a mother there recently who lost her daughter at 32 weeks. She named the baby [name]Cari[/name]ña, which in spanish (and italian) mean “dear little one”. I thought it was such a beautiful choice. I am really very sorry to hear about your daughter, I know all too well how painful it is, and I wish you, your husband and your daughter comfort during this time, as well as healthy pregnancy for you and your daugther.
So sorry to hear of your loss.
This suggestion is rather lovely.
I’m so sorry to hear about your lost. My mom miscarried 2 babies and I feel that they watch over our family.
Some suggestions:
[name]Eliora[/name]- God is my light
[name]Nadira[/name]- [name]Precious[/name]
[name]Serafina[/name]- Means angel in Latin
[name]Lailah[/name]- the angel of conception
[name]Delaney[/name]- [name]Angel[/name] from [name]Heaven[/name]
[name]Celeste[/name]- [name]Heavenly[/name]
[name]Leilani[/name]- [name]Royal[/name] child of [name]Heaven[/name]
[name]Gwen[/name]- Blessed
I’m sorry for your loss. I was a triplet, meant to be the only child, and the third child died. He kind of named himself. When my sister and I were 5, she just said one day, “The one that died named himself [name]Kyle[/name].” or something like that. [name]Eva[/name] would be a great name in my opinion.
So sorry for your loss, and good wishes to you and your little girl.
[name]Brigit[/name], patron saint of infants
[name]Mira[/name] means watch/see in Spanish
[name]Mireya[/name] means miracle
[name]Samara[/name]/[name]Samaria[/name] is “watch mountain” in Hebrew
[name]Shamira[/name] is “guardian, protector” in Hebrew
I just wanted to say I’m very sorry.
[name]Araminta[/name]: defender
[name]Bellamy[/name]: beautiful friend
[name]Ever[/name]: always - because she will always be with you
[name]Hannah[/name]: [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name]: beloved child
Kalani: the heavens - where she now resides
[name]Samara[/name]: guardian
[name]Sasha[/name]: defender
[name]Seraphina[/name]: angel
[name]Tamsin[/name]: twin
Not very good with meanings, some of these you may want to double check! But I am sorry for your loss, and wish you luck with your baby.
I haven’t got any suggestions, but I wanted to second the [name]Alexandra[/name]/[name]Alexis[/name]/[name]Alexia[/name] names. And I wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss
[name]Do[/name] you have a name selected for your angel’s twin sister? Perhaps the names can be linked together- it might help narrow down a name choice.
[name]Linnea[/name] means twinflower- that might be pretty and special for your daughter.
Alot of other suggestions that came to mind are already in this thread.
I’m sorry for your loss. My husband and I suffered miscarriages ranging from 6 weeks to 16 weeks. We named our 16 week loss [name]Naomi[/name] as we were able to idenify her gender. [name]Naomi[/name] means “pleasant” or “a blessing” - her middle name means [name]Mercy[/name]…we liked the combination together for her and especially because the middle name is a nature name like the rest of her big (and now little) sisters.
I am so sorry for your loss. When I miscarried I search for names of angels. I ultimately chose [name]Auriel[/name] (a spelling variation of [name]Uriel[/name]) who is said to be the wisest, and the most laid back and friendly of the arch angels. [name]Celestine[/name] and [name]Seraphina[/name] are beautiful heavenly names. I pray that your surviving daughter continues to grow and flourish, and wish so many blessing on your family.
[name]Ive[/name] miscarried several times, and name mine as well. I just had a miscarriage last month and named her [name]Willa[/name] because it means resolute protection.
((Hugs))
