So I have an unnamed MC and some major characters. The dystopian world is a result of a horrible worldwide war and heavy pollution. The entire world is ’ Torn’ except for a few ’ Untorn’ areas sanctioned off by the government to keep nature pure in a few valuble places. On Migration [name_u]Day[/name_u], all the rich, powerful and upper-middle-class get to board shuttles to space and live in a planet contained within a space bubble that pumps air in from Untorn areas in [name_f]Earth[/name_f] at the speed of light, so they can leave scarred, polluted [name_f]Earth[/name_f] and enjoy seemingly unlimited resources on other planets. On [name_f]Earth[/name_f], the poor, mostly children orphaned by the war hired by the government, stayed behind, and work in air-bubbling, or catching air, trapping it in bubbkes, and sending off to other planets, or they work in the rebuilding of [name_f]Earth[/name_f]. It’s hard work down there.
MC 1: Twelve year old gentle, poetic girl who I would like to have a melodic, soft name to suit her personality, but a bit different than common names because this is set in the future.
MC 2: Ten year old rough and tumble girl who works in air-bubbling as her older brother Truss works on the rebuilding of [name_f]Earth[/name_f]. I want her to have the kind of name a futuristic tomboy would have. Thanks!
My first thought for character one was [name_f]Melody[/name_f] but it doesn’t fit the futuristic aspect of your story. My next thought was [name_f]Lise[/name_f], because although it’s short it sounds poetic but not too frilly. I know a little girl named [name_f]Elise[/name_f] nn. Lisey (lee see) which also might work. Another option is [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] I think it sounds quite futuristic but the downside is it’s rather popular currently. [name_f]Morgana[/name_f] might appeal to you instead, simply because it lacks the popularity. I think [name_u]Gwyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] are also both solid options, your character reminds me a lot of the long form [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f].
As for your second character I think instantly of [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]. Like [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] however, it is extremely popular. To avoid that you can go with [name_u]Adley[/name_u] or even the name [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] which ranks lower (sounds more like your first character though). Since her brother’s name is only one syllable, giving her a short name like [name_f]Viv[/name_f] might be better than a lengthy name. My number one suggestion for her is that you name her after a city, province/state, or country. Naming her after a ‘torn’ area can symbolize her strength (or many other things since I’m not sure if you intend for this character to be mentally strong).
My favourites:
[name_f]Lise[/name_f] & [name_u]Havana[/name_u]
Good luck deciding!

Thank you guys! I am still decidingnon names but you guys have been so helpful! Great suggestions out there and I will let you know as soon as I decide.
Looking through the suggestions again I’m thinking [name_f]Viv[/name_f] and [name_f]Serina[/name_f] ’ [name_f]Sera[/name_f]’. As for the ’ torn’ place suggestion for [name_f]Viv[/name_f], Evivv is a torn place in this book so it fits, maybe being named [name_f]Viv[/name_f] after being born in Evivv but her parents wanting to not make the connection so obvious, I think [name_f]Viv[/name_f] and Truss sound great together and I love [name_f]Serina[/name_f] ’ [name_f]Sera[/name_f]’ so thank you all for helping my names! And thanks for saying you think it sounds like a great book. I appreciate the offer and the help and time you guys spent helping me.
Thank you for sharing your final choices! I have a friend named [name_f]Serena[/name_f] and she’s actually quite similar to your character description. I would never have thought to use the nickname [name_f]Sera[/name_f], it sounds perfect though.
Best of luck writing your story
Thank you. I appreciate all the help and compliments.
[name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f] and [name_u]Arden[/name_u]
[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]
[name_f]Nell[/name_f]
You could always name MC1 [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and for the second girl, [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] could probably work, but if you want a name that could be unisex, you could do [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] nn [name_u]Alex[/name_u].
[name_u]Adair[/name_u]
[name_u]Story[/name_u]
[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]
[name_f]Pia[/name_f]
