This is my first time on Nameberry but I will tell you a bit about myself & my family. My name is [name]Jill[/name] & my husband is [name]Dave[/name]. We have 4 lovely children and have always wanted a large family since we first met. Well, our wish came true in a big way because we are due with twins (a B & G)! My four children include our eldest daughter [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Abigail[/name], 9, our younger daughter [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Avery[/name], 7, our oldest son, [name]Benjamin[/name] [name]Noah[/name], 4 and my youngest [name]Jude[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] who just turned 3. Below are some names we like so far for each gender. We'd like to have it narrowed down to one boy name & one girl name so please help us! We are open to middle names & any suggestions. Thank you in advance.
Boys names we like:
[name]Brady[/name]
[name]Daniel[/name]
[name]Carter[/name]
[name]Hunter[/name]
[name]Ryder[/name]
[name]Turner[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name]
[name]Ashton[/name] (top one as of right now)—I don’t like [name]Asher[/name]
[name]Liam[/name] (love this, don’t love [name]William[/name])
[name]Atticus[/name] (I don’t really like any of the nicknames)
[name]Rylan[/name]
[name]Darby[/name]
Ellison
I would love feedback on all the names I’ve listed if you wouldn’t mind as well as suggestions!
My favorites from your girls’ list are [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Emma[/name] and [name]Seraphina[/name] - gorgeous! However, I think the first two are the best fit with your other children, as [name]Seraphina[/name] is a bit elaborate compared to [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Benjamin[/name] and [name]Jude[/name]. I like [name]Stella[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name], too. [name]Taylor[/name] is okay, but doesn’t really match [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] very well as a sister. Not a fan of [name]Hayley[/name], [name]Sadie[/name] or [name]Blair[/name] - all very trendy to me.
For boys, my favorites are [name]Daniel[/name], [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Atticus[/name]. I think all three of those are amazing and fit in perfectly. The only ones I don’t really like from your boys’ list are [name]Ryder[/name] and [name]Rylan[/name] - they seem too trendy, and I think plain [name]Ryan[/name] would be better.
A few suggestions for you, although I think you have several great options:
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Bettina[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Seraphine[/name] - taking off one syllable might help it seem less frilly?
I love your children’s names. Since your children’s names are pretty traditional, I would choose [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Emma[/name] or [name]Stella[/name] for a girl and [name]Oliver[/name] or [name]Daniel[/name] for a boy.
[name]Lucy[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Benjamin[/name] & [name]Jude[/name] are awesome names! Kudos mama! From your girls list, ADORING [name]Rosalie[/name] with her brothers and sisters. You picked a great one. And for her twin brother? I see the appeal of [name]Ashton[/name], but might be a bit trendy in comparison to the others. [name]Asher[/name] would be a better fit, but if you don’t like him, what about [name]Archer[/name]? [name]Rosalie[/name] & [name]Archer[/name] - [name]Rosie[/name] & [name]Archie[/name], are very cute together and go swimmingly with their big siblings.
So [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Benjamin[/name], [name]Jude[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name] & [name]Archer[/name]. Perfection!
I really like your older 4 kids names! They are lovely! Such nice stylish and classic names. I think the twins names should follow suit.
With sisters [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name], I think she deserves a nice feminine classic. My favorite in order are [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Emma[/name], or [name]Stella[/name]. I find [name]Sadie[/name] too nicknamey with [name]Charlotte[/name]. I really don’t think [name]Hayley[/name], [name]Taylor[/name], [name]Blair[/name], or [name]Seraphina[/name] fit. If you pick [name]Rosalie[/name] or [name]Amelia[/name] then all the girls names would have an “L” which will make them sound unified when you say them all together.
With brothers [name]Benjamin[/name] and [name]Jude[/name], I’d start with Biblical names. I only see [name]Daniel[/name] listed which is an awesome name. I’d then look for other traditional boys names. Other than [name]Oliver[/name] which isn’t really my style I don’t see any – I guess [name]Liam[/name] would be the closest. I find your boys names particularly [name]Hunter[/name], [name]Ryder[/name], [name]Turner[/name], [name]Emerson[/name], [name]Ashton[/name], [name]Rylan[/name], and [name]Darby[/name] quite different than your older sons names. What about [name]Isaac[/name], [name]Silas[/name], or [name]Elias[/name]?
Thanks for the quick feedback! @Lo, you hit the nail on the head! I would say those are our favs for the girl names too. [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Emma[/name] & [name]Stella[/name] but still keeping an open mind.
I also added [name]Elison[/name]/[name]Ellison[/name] to the list for a boy. Not in love with it but it’s growing on me.
My boy style definitely is a bit different than my girl style if you know what I mean.
[name]Both[/name] of your boys have biblical names- first and middle, was that intentional? Would you want to keep that theme? The only one you have is [name]Daniel[/name].
What about [name]Elisha[/name]/[name]Elijah[/name], [name]Joel[/name], [name]Jacob[/name], [name]Aaron[/name], [name]Samuel[/name], [name]Jesse[/name],…
Other then [name]Daniel[/name] I like [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Liam[/name]
For girls I like [name]Stella[/name] [name]Amelia[/name], since both older girls have middles that start with A
I agree with the above-- your children’s names are good classics and the twins should follow in a similar way.
For the girl, [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Emma[/name] are the best fit with [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name]-- [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Blair[/name]/[name]Taylor[/name] and [name]Emma[/name] [name]Claire[/name] work well. While I love [name]Rosalie[/name], it just doesn’t seem as classic to me. Would you consider [name]Rose[/name] or [name]Rosemary[/name] instead? I think they fit better with your sibset. [name]Rose[/name] [name]Adeline[/name] and [name]Rosemary[/name] [name]Alice[/name] (to keep with the A mn) work well. Here are some other suggestions:
For the boys, I agree that a biblical or classic name would work better with your sibset. I like [name]Daniel[/name] and think it would be great with [name]Benjamin[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Oliver[/name] is my other favorite from your list. Some other suggestions are:
[name]Lucy[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Benjamin[/name], [name]Jude[/name] and
[name]Daniel[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Emma[/name]
[name]George[/name] and [name]Sophie[/name]
[name]Andrew[/name] and [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Thomas[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Nathaniel[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Owen[/name] and [name]Jane[/name]
[name]David[/name] and [name]Margaret[/name]
Like someone else I would also suggest [name]Archer[/name] for a boy, if not I love [name]Oliver[/name] with your other names. [name]Rosalie[/name] seems great for the little girl [name]Rosie[/name] is cute If not I also think [name]Emma[/name] goes well. Best of luck
I really like [name]Ezra[/name] & [name]Tobias[/name] & [name]Aaron[/name] as suggestions!
I think [name]Rosalie[/name] is still our favorite right now! By the way, we would call her [name]Rosie[/name]. What do you ladies think of [name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]? I also like [name]Emma[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name] & [name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Emma[/name], does [name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Emma[/name] flow as well?
Top boys names as of now: [name]Liam[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Daniel[/name], [name]Ellison[/name], & [name]Brady[/name].
Ooh, & I love the suggestion of [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Brady[/name]!
[name]Emma[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name] has the best flow b/c the others all have a first name ending in a vowel sound and the middle name beginning with a vowel sound. However, I would not chose [name]Emma[/name] only based on that. I think if you love [name]Rosalie[/name] that is the most important thing. Go with [name]Rosalie[/name]. The nn [name]Rosie[/name] is precious. Once your settled on [name]Rosalie[/name] then have fun exploring some middle names that don’t begin with a vowel sound but if you don’t find one you love than go with [name]Emma[/name] or [name]Amelia[/name]. [name]Emma[/name] is a little bit less difficult to say b/c it isn’t two 3-syllable names paired together.
I think [name]Ezra[/name] is a great suggestion for you.
I really like [name]Rosalie[/name]! [name]One[/name] consideration is as she gets older [name]Rose[/name] or [name]Rosie[/name] might be a Nickname. I love the name [name]Rosalind[/name] or [name]Roslyn[/name] but my husband is against it as he knows several [name]Rose[/name]'s or [name]Roz[/name]'s. I do think its worth the risk though if you love the name.
I have a friend who goes by [name]Jonathan[/name]. He has had to correct a few people that he’s not [name]Jon[/name], but he is confident and has held the full name for almost 40 yrs.
[name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] is stunning! Beautiful flow. Loving the suggestion of [name]Tobias[/name] as well. [name]Rosalie[/name] & [name]Tobias[/name] look like they go well together (written out). Plus the nicknames [name]Rosie[/name] & [name]Toby[/name] are to die for. Okay - i think this is my favorite combination for you now!
[name]Adore[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]! I love that you have a [name]Jude[/name] [name]Alexander[/name], as I do too. As for your top boys names, I really love [name]Daniel[/name] and [name]Oliver[/name]. [name]Ezra[/name] is another favorite of mine and I love that suggestion. Oh, if only you liked [name]Asher[/name]. That was our second choice for [name]Jude[/name]'s name.
My faves for girls are [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Emma[/name] and [name]Stella[/name]. [name]Rosalie[/name] is pretty and has the nn’s [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Rosie[/name]. [name]Emma[/name] is an all-time favourite although very popular and is becoming a little generic. [name]Stella[/name] is probably my number one- it’s sweet and dreamy and I think of stars (constellations).
For boys my picks are [name]Carter[/name], [name]Hunter[/name] and [name]Liam[/name]. I think I’m torn over which would be my number one! [name]Ellison[/name] isn’t bad either but considering the more obvious nickname of [name]Ellie[/name], it doesn’t seem so appealing.
Ooh I like [name]Liam[/name] [name]Brady[/name]! @KlCalder, we have great taste in names!
Okay ladies, so I think we’re leaning toward [name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] for our baby girl. I don’t know if I’m set on the middle name. I think it’d be nice to keep up the A names in the middle names of our girls. However, I don’t think it is a must. Any other suggestions for [name]Rosalie[/name]'s middle name. I just can’t seem to let [name]Rosalie[/name] go! I love that first name for a girl so now we just need to work on a boy’s name. TOO many great suggestions!
I think I’ve eliminated [name]Ellison[/name] because it reminds me of [name]Allison[/name] & I do NOT like the nickname [name]Ellie[/name] as someone pointed out. So I really stlll love [name]Ezra[/name], [name]Daniel[/name], [name]Liam[/name], [name]Brady[/name] & [name]Oliver[/name]. or any other suggestions! It doesn’t have to be bibilical! thanks!
