Name help!

Ok so we don’t know the sex of our baby but we are due anytime in next two weeks. I’m struggling with names. Got two of each gender but they are all really different from each other and I like all of them about equally.

Boy-

[name_m]Brody[/name_m] and [name_m]Judd[/name_m]

Girl-

[name_f]Hattie[/name_f] and Landri

I like [name_m]Brody[/name_m] but I’m concerned it may be really popular? It’s ranked #92 and the other three names are really uncommon so we are good with those. We live in the south so I don’t seem to hear a lot about [name_m]Brody[/name_m] but then again I don’t have any kids yet. Any help with the popularity of these names and which ones you all like? Thanks!

I only know of one little guy named [name_m]Brody[/name_m] (grew up in the Midwest, currently living in VA) and I don’t know any little guys named [name_m]Judd[/name_m], but I have seen the name mentioned in more posts here on Nameberry. I personally think [name_m]Judd[/name_m] goes better stylistically with [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] or Landri, but [name_m]Brody[/name_m] doesn’t clash with them by any means.

Sidenote: are you set on the spelling of Landri? I would suggest sticking with the [name_u]Landry[/name_u] spelling. It looks less cutesy and I think it will grow better with your daughter that way; names that end in ‘i’ or ‘ee’ always look so diminutive and forced-feminine to me.

[name_m]Brody[/name_m] is fine. You could give him a rarer middle name, or choose one of these instead:
[name_m]Brogan[/name_m]
[name_u]Grady[/name_u]
[name_m]Grant[/name_m]
[name_m]Bryan[/name_m]
[name_m]Greyson[/name_m]
[name_u]Brennan[/name_u]

Agree with what PP said about the spelling of Landri. The better way to make something more feminine is to use a frilly feminine middle name, i.e. [name_u]Landry[/name_u] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], [name_u]Landry[/name_u] [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f].

I would pick [name_m]Brody[/name_m] over [name_m]Judd[/name_m], but [name_m]Judd[/name_m] isn’t a bad name at all. [name_m]Brody[/name_m] really isn’t popular where I’m from. I’ve only met one.

Definitely [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] on the girl’s choice! I like both [name_m]Brody[/name_m] and [name_m]Judd[/name_m]. I would suggest [name_u]Grady[/name_u]!
