Name ideas for baby #2

My husband and I are TTC baby #2, and are already struggling with names. We have a daughter named [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f]. Last name starts with a [name_u]Pat[/name_u] and ends in -son. Options are:

[ul]

[/ul]

I had about 20 more possibilities, but my husband has nixed them all :disappointed_relieved: We like family names as well (grandpa is [name_m]Roger[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]; greats are [name_m]Gerald[/name_m], [name_m]Paul[/name_m] ([name_u]Sonny[/name_u]), [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]John[/name_m], [name_m]Raymond[/name_m]). Open to suggestions!! Thanks!

I am warming up to the name [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I like [name_u]Everett[/name_u], but I also like [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] and [name_m]Beckett[/name_m]. I think it is the t sound st the end that might make it sound close to [name_f]Margot[/name_f].
Here are some others:
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]
[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]
[name_m]Landon[/name_m]
[name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]
[name_m]Bowen[/name_m]

I think [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] would be a cute name for a boy.

I actually really like [name_m]Roger[/name_m] and [name_m]Paul[/name_m] from your family names. Were they nixed? On your list, I like [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m].

I like [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] with [name_f]Margot[/name_f]!

If we used either [name_m]Roger[/name_m] or [name_m]Paul[/name_m], they would probably be in the middle spot - [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Roger[/name_m] would be a flip of my dad’s name. And while I love [name_m]Paul[/name_m] for a little boy now, I’m hesitant of the PP initials.

I like [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]!

Looks like [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] might be moving to the top of my list!

You have some really nice choices here. I totally think [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] is a usable full name, and I actually really love it. It’s unique and quirky but not made-up, and in this case it’s a family name which makes it extra nice. [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] gets my votes for that reason.

I also really like [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] & [name_m]Otto[/name_m]. I think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_m]Otto[/name_m] sound perfectly fine together, and you only really say their names together when they are kids anyways.

By the way, I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Margot[/name_f].

I like [name_u]Everett[/name_u] and [name_m]Hank[/name_m] the best. It took me a moment to figure out what you meant by “sounds like [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]”–and you could probably avoid that by saying [name_m]Rhett[/name_m] first if it bothered you, or call out [name_f]Margo[/name_f]-[name_u]Everett[/name_u], using his full name. I love [name_m]Otto[/name_m] but I think it’s too close to [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. I’m not sure I’d use [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] as a given name.

[name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Gerald[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] “[name_m]Hank[/name_m]” [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]

My favourites are [name_m]Harry[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], and [name_m]Paul[/name_m].

P.S. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] is gorgeous! <3<3

My favourites are [name_m]Otto[/name_m], [name_m]Harry[/name_m] and [name_u]Sonny[/name_u]. [name_u]Everett[/name_u] is adorable too. I’m not a major fan of the name/nn [name_m]Hank[/name_m], but it’s cute. [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] is definitely usable and absolutely adorable! [name_m]Rhett[/name_m] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] do sound a bit matchy, but because Maragret is a bit longer, it’s ok. [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] are also a bit matchy, but it’s super cute, and they don’t look matchy written down.

Some other suggestions:
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m]
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]
[name_u]Alfie[/name_u]
[name_m]Patrick[/name_m]
[name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]William[/name_m]
[name_u]Everest[/name_u]

You could also find names that mean the same thing as your family names.

Great list! I like [name_m]Otto[/name_m], [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] best and I don’t think [name_m]Otto[/name_m] sounds too match with [name_f]Margot[/name_f] - it’s only the endings that are similar and there plenty of siblings called things like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_u]Noah[/name_u] or [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_u]Finley[/name_u].

[name_u]Sonny[/name_u] is cool, but I don’t really like it with a -son surname.
