I feel that nothing goes with [name_m]Hill[/name_m], our last name. Potential names either sound like places (eg [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_m]Hill[/name_m]), or they’re one syllable, which usually don’t sound right with a one syllable last name. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the name [name_u]Blair[/name_u] for a girl, but its one syllable feels too short. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Nolan[/name_m] for a boy, too, but a friend just used it. Nothing I try sounds quite right. I tend to lean toward names with a preppy or classic feel. Any thoughts?
I’d stick to longer names and no noun or words or places.
[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Colette[/name_f]
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m]
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m]
[name_m]Brian[/name_m]
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
[name_m]Bruce[/name_m]
Things like that. Nothing that could possibly be a place or a word unfortunately. I have a close friend with that last name. That’s what they’ve done with their kiddos.
Actually, I think it’s pretty easy to pair [name_m]Hill[/name_m] with many names. I once dated a guy with that last name, so I’ve thought over it a lot in the past. It is better to avoid one syllable, word or obviously naturey name, but other than that, there’s pretty much no other limitation. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_m]Hill[/name_m] may sound like a place, but if you use a variant, like [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_m]Hill[/name_m], all your problem is gone.
