Name Ideas (not expecting, just collecting)

So here are my current favs. We want to give all of our children two middle names (like Daddy), and last name is - of course - Hutchison. Ideas, comments, thoughts?

[name_f]Zorana[/name_f] [name_f]Mackenzie[/name_f] “[name_f]Zoey[/name_f]”

PS - Any combos, rearranging, suggestions, etc is fine… Personally I prefer [name_f]Michael[/name_f] as a girl’s name and [name_m]Emerson[/name_m] as a boy’s name, but my hubby prefers them as listed…

BOYS
[name_m]Akio[/name_m] “Kio” – eh. Not my style. (I’m a romantic)
[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_u]Loren[/name_u] Phares “[name_m]Benjy[/name_m]” – This is cute! [name_m]How[/name_m] are you pronouncing Phares?
[name_m]Damian[/name_m] – All right, feels overused, but I’m around a number of young writers and they tend to jump on these names.
Eragon – Like the book/character? I would love to hear more about this, I was SUPER into them for a while.
[name_m]Hosea[/name_m] – Definitely refreshing.
[name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]Quest[/name_m] “IQ” – Not a fan of this nickname, but I do really like [name_m]Ian[/name_m].
[name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] “[name_m]Jax[/name_m]” – Cute! [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m]/[name_m]Jackson[/name_m] has been getting incredibly popular, but that’s my only beef with it.
[name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] McClarney III “Hutch” – I will never critique family names, which I assume this is because of the III
[name_m]Kelton[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] – Not sure how I feel about [name_m]Kelton[/name_m], but I haven’t heard it before.
[name_m]Kelvin[/name_m] – Like the scientific scale of temperature measurement?
[name_m]Ryder[/name_m] – I see it around a lot, but it’s cool.
[name_u]Spencer[/name_u] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] – THIS I can get behind. I really love this.
[name_m]Titus[/name_m] “[name_m]Ty[/name_m]” – I automatically associate this name with [name_m]Titus[/name_m] Andronicus, a very gruesome [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] play that I have a lot of feelings about. But the character himself is all right and [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] is cool.
Toku – Not my style. From my mild amount of research it has decent meaning(s?) in Japanese though.
[name_m]Xavier[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] “[name_m]Xander[/name_m]” – Also a bit tired of seeing [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] around.

Our intended god parents are Japanese, which is why we included [name_m]Akio[/name_m] and [name_m]Toku[/name_m].
[name_m]Phares[/name_m] is pronounced like [name_m]Ferris[/name_m] wheel. It’s my maiden name; [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Loren[/name_m] [name_m]Phares[/name_m] is my father’s name.
[name_m]Eragon[/name_m]. Yes, like the book/character. I love those books and fell in love with both the name [name_m]Eragon[/name_m] and the name [name_f]Saphira[/name_f]. However, [name_f]Saphira[/name_f] always reminds me of the character in the Bible who was killed by the Holy [name_f]Spirit[/name_f] for lying.
III is after my husband’s father.
[name_m]Kelton[/name_m] is my husband’s best friend’s name, and I absolutely [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it.
[name_m]Kelvin[/name_m]. Yes, like science. I only kinda like this, but since there is the possibility of us having multiples, I REALLY liked it as a twin name with [name_m]Kelton[/name_m].
I never associated [name_m]Titus[/name_m] with [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m], although I’ve read all his works. I always think of [name_m]Titus[/name_m] from the Bible. I might have to reconsider that one.

Your list makes a lot more sense now, haha.

BOYS
[name_m]Akio[/name_m] “[name_m]Kio[/name_m]”: I like that it’s short and straightforward.
[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Loren[/name_m] [name_m]Phares[/name_m] “[name_m]Benjy[/name_m]”: I like that you were able to get your maiden name in there, which makes the combo better in my eyes.
[name_m]Damian[/name_m]: [name_u]Love[/name_u]!
[name_m]Eragon[/name_m]: It definitely has a fantasy vibe (from the dragon, I think?), but I think it could work.
[name_m]Hosea[/name_m]: [name_u]Love[/name_u] the meaning!
[name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]Quest[/name_m] “IQ”: The combo has a great feeling of adventure, but I’m not loving the nn.
[name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] “[name_m]Jax[/name_m]”: I prefer [name_m]Jackson[/name_m], but I understand why you’d use that spelling if you want [name_m]Jax[/name_m].
[name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] McClarney III “Hutch”: Hutch is an adorable nn.
[name_m]Kelton[/name_m] [name_m]Michael[/name_m]: Handsome name, but is your husband okay with naming a child after his best friend? Is the best friend fine with it (does he want a jr)?
[name_m]Kelvin[/name_m]: If [name_m]Kevin[/name_m] works, [name_m]Kelvin[/name_m] does as well. However, in a sibset with [name_m]Kelton[/name_m] I would think it’s too close. That comes down to personal taste though and the way you view multiples.
[name_m]Ryder[/name_m]: Definitely a spunky name and a “too cool for school” vibe. It doesn’t help that the only one I’ve ever met was a young kid that already had a mohawk and had the aggressive daredevil personality type.
[name_m]Spencer[/name_m] [name_m]Reid[/name_m]: It’s not my favorite on your list, but the combo has a nice flow.
[name_m]Titus[/name_m] “[name_m]Ty[/name_m]”: [name_m]Ty[/name_m] is an adorable nn!
[name_m]Toku[/name_m]: I have no strong feeling either way about this one.
[name_m]Xavier[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] “[name_m]Xander[/name_m]”: I like the combo and the nn.

GIRLS
[name_f]Abigayle[/name_f] “[name_f]Abby[/name_f]”: Unless there’s a reason, I prefer the spelling [name_f]Abigail[/name_f]. It’s less likely to be a spelling headache in the future, especially since most people go with the more common spelling (and don’t seem to listen when you correct them!).
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Ember[/name_f] “[name_f]Andra[/name_f]”: I like [name_f]Andra[/name_f] as the nn for [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]. It definitely makes it feel more fresh.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]: Classic, you can’t go wrong.
[name_f]Annalee[/name_f]: nms
[name_f]Blair[/name_f]: Short and sweet!
[name_f]Cadence[/name_f]: nms
[name_f]Delia[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f]: I don’t have strong opinions on either name, but it’s a nice combo.
[name_f]Emerson[/name_f]: I’m not a fan of -son fns on girls; it would also sound a little repetitive with your last name.
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] “[name_f]Gracie[/name_f]”: It’s a combination that works, but it’s a popular fn next to a popular mn.
[name_f]Falon[/name_f]: I like it! It’s definitely a spunky name. I’ve only met one, but she was a good student and a good athlete.
[name_f]Genesis[/name_f]: Too religious for me.
[name_f]Georgianna[/name_f]: I prefer the [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] spelling, but it’s still a wonderful name (although, I would probably still instinctively pronounce it like [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] unless I heard it first). I also like that you can get [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] if she wants a nn that was more boyish or [name_f]Gia[/name_f] if she wanted to go more frilly.
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f]: [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!
[name_f]Harleen[/name_f] “[name_f]Harley[/name_f]”: nms
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]: Very pretty! I love all the meaning behind ivy and how it’s such a pretty plant, but so strong.
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] “[name_f]Laurie[/name_f]”: I like the nn idea more than the combo. For me, it’s too associated with all the [name_m]Laurens[/name_m] in my age group (born in the late 80s early 90s).
[name_f]Lesley[/name_f]: nms
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f]: Spunky name with some great nn potential.
[name_f]Linux[/name_f]: Very computer-y, but it’s intriguing as a name.
[name_f]Morgana[/name_f]: [name_u]Love[/name_u] love love! I like seeing someone use the female version of [name_u]Morgan[/name_u].
[name_f]Quinn[/name_f]: nms, I’m not a big fan of unisex names
[name_f]Selah[/name_f]: Pretty as long as it’s pronounced correctly and not like “sell-ah”
[name_f]Tzipporah[/name_f] “Taz”: nms
[name_f]Willow[/name_f]: It makes me think of [name_f]Buffy[/name_f] so I like it
[name_f]Zorana[/name_f] [name_f]Mackenzie[/name_f] “[name_f]Zoey[/name_f]”: I slightly prefer [name_f]Zorina[/name_f], but [name_f]Zorana[/name_f] is still really beautiful!

[name_f]Abigayle[/name_f] “[name_u]Abby[/name_u]” – I’m the biggest poop about spelling changes. Especially with the letter ‘Y.’ But it’s still a great name.
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_u]Ember[/name_u] “[name_f]Andra[/name_f]” – [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Ember[/name_u], kinda bored of [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f].
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] – [name_u]Love[/name_u] this.
[name_f]Annalee[/name_f] – Prefer the spelling [name_f]Annalie[/name_f] but I also love this name.
[name_u]Blair[/name_u] – Cute!
[name_f]Cadence[/name_f] – Also cute.
[name_f]Delia[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f] – I don’t hear [name_f]Delia[/name_f] much, this is a nice combo.
[name_u]Emerson[/name_u] – Apparently this is getting popular. I like it, and this spelling.
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] “[name_f]Gracie[/name_f]” – Nothing about this excites me.
[name_f]Falon[/name_f] – Never sure how to pronounce this?
[name_u]Genesis[/name_u] – Eh, I see where you’re coming from, it DOES sound like a feminine name, but too much Bible for me.
[name_f]Georgianna[/name_f] – [name_u]Love[/name_u] it.
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f] – I like the idea of this name more than the name itself. It just doesn’t flow well for me.
[name_f]Harleen[/name_f] “[name_u]Harley[/name_u]” – I have this weird thing against the ‘ee’ sound in the middle of names.
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] – Adorable.
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] “[name_u]Laurie[/name_u]” – Solid choice.
[name_u]Lesley[/name_u] – Yaaaaasss but I prefer the spelling [name_u]Leslie[/name_u].
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f] – Cute
[name_m]Linux[/name_m] – …Like the OS? #yolo
[name_f]Morgana[/name_f] – I like this because it’s [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] but more interesting.
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] – Cute.
[name_f]Selah[/name_f] – Cute.
Tzipporah “Taz” – Ohhhh this is a neat one I like it.
[name_f]Willow[/name_f] – I have yet to meet a [name_f]Willow[/name_f] that doesn’t try to act like a fairy all the time.
[name_f]Zorana[/name_f] [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] “[name_f]Zoey[/name_f]” – Sounds sci-fi ish, no objections

[name_m]Akio[/name_m] “Kio”- I have never heard of this name before, but I like it.
[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_u]Loren[/name_u] Phares “[name_m]Benjy[/name_m]”- I’m not a huge fan of [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]. I find it rather plain. [name_u]Loren[/name_u] is kind of feminine, but otherwise I like it. Phares is a little out there, and I had trouble pronouncing it at first.
[name_m]Damian[/name_m]- The sound of the name is fine, but I don’t really like names that begin with “d.”
Eragon- I don’t like the hard “g” sound in the middle of names, so that puts me off of this one.
[name_m]Hosea[/name_m]- This just reminds me of hoses and horses.
[name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]Quest[/name_m] “IQ”- I love this one! [name_m]Ian[/name_m] is one of my favorite names, and [name_m]Quest[/name_m] is a really cool middle.
[name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] “[name_m]Jax[/name_m]”- This one doesn’t really match with the other names on your list, but otherwise, I really like it.
[name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] McClarney III “Hutch”- I have no idea where “Hutch” came from, but the actual name is kind of plain.
[name_m]Kelton[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u]- I like this one. The unusual first name is balanced out by [name_u]Michael[/name_u] in the middle, and the actual sound is great.
[name_m]Kelvin[/name_m]- It reminds me of [name_m]Kevin[/name_m], which is fine as a name, but I have bas associations with it.
[name_m]Ryder[/name_m]- Cute. Not my favorite, but cute.
[name_u]Spencer[/name_u] [name_u]Reid[/name_u]- I like this one, too. It flows really well.
[name_m]Titus[/name_m] “[name_m]Ty[/name_m]”- I really like the nickname [name_m]Ty[/name_m], and I’m sure [name_m]Titus[/name_m] would grow on me eventually.
Toku- To me, this seems like a mix of [name_m]Goku[/name_m] and tofu.
[name_m]Xavier[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] “[name_m]Xander[/name_m]”- Lots of x’s in this one. I like it, though.

[name_f]Abigayle[/name_f] “[name_u]Abby[/name_u]”- My sister’s name is [name_f]Abigayle[/name_f], so I’m very used to it at this point. It’s just nothing special anymore.
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_u]Ember[/name_u] “[name_f]Andra[/name_f]”- I love the nickname [name_f]Andra[/name_f] and the middle name [name_u]Ember[/name_u]. So many [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]’s go by [name_u]Ali[/name_u], and I think it’s cool to see the nickname [name_f]Andra[/name_f] for a change.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]- I love this name. I don’t know why, I just do.
[name_f]Annalee[/name_f]- I don’t really have an opinion on this one. It’s just okay.
[name_u]Blair[/name_u]- I don’t really like names that start with “b,” so this one isn’t so great.
[name_f]Cadence[/name_f]- Pretty. I love musical names.
[name_f]Delia[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f]- I don’t really like [name_f]Delia[/name_f], to me it looks like someone misspelled [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]. [name_f]Jade[/name_f] just sounds like someone with a cold saying [name_f]Jane[/name_f], but that’s probably because my middle name is [name_f]Jane[/name_f].
[name_u]Emerson[/name_u]- This masculine to me. [name_m]Don[/name_m]’t get me wrong, unisex names are fine on girls, but [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] reminds me of [name_m]Elmer[/name_m].
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] “[name_f]Gracie[/name_f]”- [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is a very, very popular name, almost as popular as [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. It’s just kind of plain.
[name_f]Falon[/name_f]- I think [name_f]Falon[/name_f] is adorable. One of my cousins is named [name_f]Falon[/name_f].
[name_u]Genesis[/name_u]- It seems like a religious version of [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f]. [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] is overused and I don’t associate with any religions, but I can see why it would be significant in a religious person’s life. If you just like the sound of it, that’s not that great to me, either.
[name_f]Georgianna[/name_f]- I much prefer [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. It’s a lot more simple and sounds more like it’s own name, not just a feminine version of [name_m]George[/name_m].
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f]- This makes me think of the Disney princess from Enchanted. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, I love Disney.
[name_f]Harleen[/name_f] “[name_u]Harley[/name_u]”- I think [name_u]Harley[/name_u] works fine on its own. [name_f]Harleen[/name_f] seems overly complicated.
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]- I like this one. It has a nice sound, and the plant is pretty.
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] “[name_u]Laurie[/name_u]”- I have recently come to like [name_f]Lauren[/name_f]. It’s simple, but not plain.
[name_u]Lesley[/name_u]- Not a huge fan of this one. I don’t know why, either.
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f]- Cute. It’s one of the few virtue names I like.
[name_m]Linux[/name_m]- I don’t know what to make of this one, it’s very rare. But it does sound nice.
[name_f]Morgana[/name_f]- The sound is okay, but a girl named [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] teased me as a kid. [name_f]Morgana[/name_f] reminds me of [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], so I can’t really have an unbiased opinion on this one.
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]- Cute, but some accents might not be able to pronounce it correctly.
(I don’t really have an opinion on [name_f]Selah[/name_f] or Tzipporah, so I skipped them).
[name_f]Willow[/name_f]- This is one of my favorite nature names.
[name_f]Zorana[/name_f] [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] “[name_f]Zoey[/name_f]”- I really like [name_f]Zorana[/name_f] and [name_f]Zoey[/name_f]. My name is [name_f]MacKenna[/name_f], so obviously I am a little biased towards [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u].

[name_f]Abigayle[/name_f] because my mother-in-law’s middle name is [name_f]Gayle[/name_f].
My husband likes [name_f]Emerson[/name_f] for a girl, but I associate the name with [name_m]Emerson[/name_m] from the [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_m]Peabody[/name_m] books.
I was thinking [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] as two middle names for maybe [name_f]Abigayle[/name_f] or something.
I always liked the nn [name_f]George[/name_f] (for [name_f]Georgianna[/name_f]) like [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] [name_u]Drew[/name_u]'s cousin.
I’m worried that if I use [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] people might call her “Poison [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]”. Which is ok if they mean the comic book character, but mean if they mean the plant that causes horrible itchy rashes.
[name_f]Morgana[/name_f] LeFay was my favorite [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] character.
