[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
Cool lists!
Here are my thoughts-
Boys:
[name_m]Sorley[/name_m]-I don’t know. I really liked it at first glance. It has a fun sound, but then after thinking a second it kind of sounds & looks just like sorely. Which isn’t that nice of a connection.
Raiffe-I’ve never seen this spelling. Is it like [name_u]Rafe[/name_u] or like Raffie? Either way, super cute. I adore [name_u]Rafe[/name_u]. It’s really simple, unique, dashing, masculine & sporty yet sounds thoughtful too. Raffie is a cute nn for [name_m]Rafael[/name_m] or [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] . [name_u]Rafe[/name_u] could also be a nn for [name_m]Rafael[/name_m] or [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m], but I do think that it stands fine on its own.
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]-Beautiful name. It’s gentle & strong at the same time. Also a bit artsy, but then again I can easily picture it on a mountain man.
[name_m]Huw[/name_m]-I don’t mind this spelling, but I do think that [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] looks more approachable. Unless you’re in Whales, I suppose. It’s a nice name either way. I think that [name_m]Huey[/name_m]/Huwie/Hughie is adorable.
[name_u]Mack[/name_u]-I like it for a mn. It’s really fun. Kind of sporty & witty sounding. It’s a bit lack luster on its own in my opinion. Maybe [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] or [name_u]Maverick[/name_u] nn [name_u]Mack[/name_u]? I also like [name_m]Malachy[/name_m] & [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] nn [name_m]Mac[/name_m].
[name_u]Blair[/name_u]-I don’t know about this one. I kind of find it too masculine for a girl yet too feminine for a boy.
[name_u]James[/name_u]-A nice solid handsome classic. I especially like it w/the nns [name_u]Jem[/name_u] or Jass.
[name_m]Ossian[/name_m]-Is this the same as [name_m]Oisin[/name_m]? Or is it said more like [name_u]Ocean[/name_u]? I think ‘Oh-see-an’ may be the most common pronunciation when people see this. I like it! I also like [name_m]Oisin[/name_m] said ‘ooh-sheen’, which is a bit more complicated.
[name_m]Ruairidh[/name_m]-People will mess this one up too, but I really really prefer the authentic spelling to [name_u]Rory[/name_u]. It just seems much more handsome & interesting that way.
[name_u]Ronnie[/name_u]-Not a huge fan of this one. It seems a bit dated. Maybe as a nn for [name_m]Roland[/name_m]?
[name_m]Otis[/name_m]-So cute! I think I picture a little boy in overalls fishing in the creek. [name_m]Just[/name_m] adorable. Simple and well known, yet not over done.
[name_u]Rudy[/name_u]-This is okay. It’s kind of fun & different, but I just don’t like the ‘[name_m]Rude[/name_m]’ part, you know?
Girls:
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]-[name_m]Just[/name_m] beautiful. Simple & feminine, yet not too fussy & not too popular.
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]-This is kind of quirky & lovable. I really like it.
[name_f]Iona[/name_f]-Ooh, that’s one that you don’t see too often. It’s not a name typically on my radar, but it’s pretty & different.
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]-This one is a nice name, but just way way over done.
[name_f]Lilias[/name_f]-I love [name_f]Lilie[/name_f]/Lilia/Lilian/Liliana, but just can’t get into this one. It’s not bad.
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]-[name_u]Love[/name_u] this! It’s sweet, sassy & kind of artsy. I like it better as a nn personally. You could use [name_f]Mary[/name_f], or also [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] or [name_f]Maureen[/name_f].
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]-This is nice. Smart, girly but not frilly, simple & well known, yet not terribly over done. It has great old fashioned charm. A little Southern charm too.
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f]-I don’t know why I don’t care for this one. I think it’s sweet kind [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]'s snobby neighbor in the wild west town.
[name_f]Mila[/name_f]-Very beautiful, but just so darn trendy. I like it as a nn for [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] best.
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]-So cute! Another one full of sweet lovable vintage charm. She’s soft & kind, but I can also see it on a flapper dancer.
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]-I don’t love or hate this one. It’s kind of cute, but something about it feels heavy at the same time. I really like the nn [name_f]Millie[/name_f].
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] my rambling helps a bit.
