Attractive? Unattractive?

Graceful? Clumsy?

Aristocratic? Commoner?

Ancient? Vintage? Modern?

[name_f]Abyssinia[/name_f]… The first thing I think of is dark, complex mystique. It’s definitely old-fashioned to me, and sounds ancient. I don’t really assign class to names, so no comment there. It’s elegant, although in a darker fashion and not sleek.

@danakatherine – Thank you! Your feedback is very helpful! I edited my original post to better ask whether or not others perceive [name_f]Abyssinia[/name_f] as aristocratic.

I think of the cat breed, which is sleek, elegant, & playful. I also think of royalty & ancient places…if I was to imagine a girl named [name_f]Abyssinia[/name_f], she’d probably be slim, dark-haired & -eyed, olive-skinned, sophisticated, & fluent in several languages.

This name definitely gives off a weighty feel. It seems very old (beyond old fashioned, more like antiquity) but with modern appeal.

Both place names and ancient names have been getting a lot of buzz. And with the firillier qualities of [name_f]Abyssinia[/name_f] and modern nickname potential it seems very usable.

She’s a goth. She wears a flowing black dress and chunky boots. She’s gentle with animals and writes poetry and loves fresh flowers, but she’s also intimidating to those who don’t know her.

If she’s an aristocrat, it’s in a dark fantasy realm, or she doesn’t fit in.

I get fantasy vibes from it. It’s a bit dark and whimsical. Great name actually , so pretty and magical. I’ve never heard it before.
