Does anyone else get images/visuals when they see a name or name combo?
I think maybe due to that I paint regularly (for myself and commission) I see colours with names and more visuals than before when I was on NB.
Yes, but it’s usually places for me. Like [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] is a wooden house in the winter, [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] is a lawyer’s office in [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m] City, [name_f]Susan[/name_f] is a suburban professional’s home.
I have synesthesia, which usually applies to music (chromesthesia?) but sometimes names as well. I’m nowhere near the level of @jonquils’ beautiful descriptions, though- mine are simplified colors. [name_u]Claude[/name_u] is mustard yellow, Cécile is pastel greens and pinks, and [name_m]Salvador[/name_m] is ocean blue, for example.
I am a weird example of no, I can understand there are certain names that feel more classy and aristocrat, like they could be born to a rich and influential family but other than that I don’t associate every name with a word, color, place etc.
more so colors than anything, but I also sometimes imagine a certain age, what that person is like personality wise, what era they are from. Sometimes a hint of fabric (are they more lace or more denim). Happens with some names strongly, other names have just a hint, but all names have a color.
