Name Impression

What is your impression of the name [name_f]Johanna[/name_f]?

I love it. I always like more formal, longer versions of older names. They seem more classic to me.

I think of the character from the hunger games. That’s not a bad thing tho. I love her character- she’s strong, witty, and wise. The name does seems to carry a lot of strength. I really like it.

I really love it. It has a lot of strength and quiet beauty. I mostly associate it with [name_f]Joana[/name_f] Cedia, a teenage YouTuber, probably because I’m a teenager myself. I picture a very smart, scientist girl with this name.

I always found the “h” such a nuisance, like it hopped in from a different name and shouldn’t be there. I much prefer [name_f]Joanna[/name_f]

[name_u]Love[/name_u] it. Strong name. Classic, feminine and strong. Nicknames are great [name_u]Jo[/name_u] / [name_f]Hanna[/name_f] / [name_f]Anna[/name_f] or no nickname at all.

I love the name [name_f]Johanna[/name_f]. I’m assuming that you are pronouncing it the same as [name_f]Joanna[/name_f]. There’s also the - [name_m]German[/name_m] I assume - pronunciation that vocalises the ‘h’. I also like that where it matches the surname.

I don’t mind it. It feels serious yet with the potential to be youthful

I really like it!

I like it. It’s smart, timeless, international and serious yet pretty. I actually know a little [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] known as [name_f]Joni[/name_f], which lends a nice shot of bohemian cool to the name.

I absolutely love it! It’s an awesome name! [name_f]Joana[/name_f] was my favorite name for years! The only reason I will not use it in the future is because the name is extremely popular on my country since the 90’s and unfortunately I know to many girls/women named [name_f]Joana[/name_f].
[name_f]Johanna[/name_f] is a lovely choice! So underused on English-speaking countries… It’s elegant, tradicional, very feminine, international, sweet and beautiful. It also has many nicknames possibilities like [name_u]Jo[/name_u], [name_u]Joan[/name_u], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_u]Jojo[/name_u], [name_f]Joy[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f], Joannie.

I like it when pronounced “[name_f]Yohanna[/name_f]” as in [name_m]German[/name_m] and Scandinavian languages. To me it sounds pretty and sophisticated.

But if it’s the English pronunciation with the silent H you’re going for, I prefer the [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] spelling.

I like the “[name_f]Yohanna[/name_f]” pronunciation (as in [name_m]German[/name_m] and Scandinavian languages). To me it sounds pretty and sophisticated.

In English, I’m not sure whether the H is supposed to pronounced or silent (as in [name_f]Rihanna[/name_f]). If you’re going for the latter I would recommend the [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] spelling.

The Duggar family spring to mind when I hear this name, I think they spelt it [name_f]Johannah[/name_f] though. I knew someone called this when I was younger and she was always called [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] Marijuana but I think it’s a pretty name, and you don’t hear it very often, which is a positive.

I have a complicated answer haha… on the face of it, I am not a fan of the name. I don’t really care for how it looks or sounds. On the other hand, it is my grandmother’s name, so when I see it I also get a sense of warmth and happiness. So I feel like I cannot say I don’t like the name, more that it is just not my style.
