Name Kids According to Previous Posters rules

play as many times as you’d like!

[name_m]How[/name_m] this works is each person posts a set of (preferably 1-5, but can be longer) rules for naming (can be their actual baby naming rules or ones they made up for the game) and the next poster has to give a boy name and a girl name that follow all the rules and then post their own set for the next poster. They can be a sibling set but they don’t need to be.

for example
Poster 1: 1. Middle name must begin with the letter B, 2. First names must be gender neutral, 3. The overall syllable count should be 5

Poster 2: [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] (g) and [name_u]Sage[/name_u] [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] (b)

To begin my rules are

  1. No nicknames as given names (first or middle)- one or the other can be a short name (see #5) as long as they aren’t shortened forms of longer names
  2. No non-traditional spellings (legitimate ethnic variants, ie Aleksander instead of [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] are acceptable…what isn’t is Allaxyndyrre)
  3. Outside the top twenty for either gender (in your country, this one only applies to first names. middles can be any popularity)- going by the spelling you are using!
  4. Multiple nickname options (via the first or the middle name)- be sure to include at least two in your post.

[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f] - [name_f]Liz[/name_f] or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_u]Evan[/name_u] - [name_u]Nick[/name_u] or [name_u]Nico[/name_u]

First names start with Z and middles must be 3 syllables with alternative spellings.

[name_m]Zachary[/name_m] Auliver (b) and [name_f]Zenobia[/name_f] Cassydie (g)

[name_m]New[/name_m] set of rules

  1. Must include two middle names (3 names total)
  2. All names must be within the 2016 US top 1,000 (for that particular gender)
  3. Subtract the ranking of each name from 1,000 to determine the ‘point value’ of the name, each combo should add up to 1,000 or less.
  4. None of the names (first or middles) can start with the same letter as any other (this goes across both sets…so you can’t have [name_m]Alvin[/name_m] and [name_f]Aria[/name_f] for instance)

[name_f]Eileen[/name_f] [name_f]Leila[/name_f] [name_f]Milana[/name_f] & [name_u]Harley[/name_u] [name_m]Axl[/name_m] [name_m]Leandro[/name_m]

  1. First name must be at least 3 syllables and have an european appeal to it (italian & portuguese names are bonus points!)
  2. First middle name has to be short-ish, but anything is good as long as it makes the combo flow well.
  3. Second middle name is either something romanticly unexpected (ie. [name_m]Romeo[/name_m]) or honoring grandparents: [name_f]Yaiza[/name_f], [name_m]Guillermo[/name_m], [name_f]Esther[/name_f] & [name_m]Carmelo[/name_m].
  4. Must flow well with other siblings: [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_m]Thiago[/name_m] [name_m]Dante[/name_m] [name_m]Romeo[/name_m], [name_m]Leandro[/name_m] [name_m]Alessio[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u].
  5. For girls, at least two of the names have to end in -a, and for boys at least two have to end in -o.
