[name_m]Hi[/name_m] group~
This is my first post, I joined to get some inspiration!
Our son is 6 months now…and still “baby boy”.
To clarify, I am not bothered by this, or feeling desperate or upset. I am fine with waiting as long as it takes for his name to come. We will have a naming ceremony when it is clear.
He is our 6th child, with a large gap. My next oldest is 11. He makes our family 3 girls 3 boys.
He was a wonderful surprise and has proven his resilience every step of the way.
We very nearly list him at birth. His resuscitation took about 45 minutes and he suffered a brain injury as a result. He has fought very hard and his will is very strong!
I am a professional artist, my husband a literary major…we prefer ‘unique’ names…but that seems a tall order these days, especially in our community…where anything goes name-wise.
So far we have liked many names, but none fit him at all…
I get a melodic, gentle…maybe even a vowel name- feeling from him…he is very fair and sweet…but he has a fire in him no doubt!!
It seems a unique, but melodic and strength inspired name seems hard to find!
[name_m]How[/name_m] about:
[name_m]Koa[/name_m] means warrior
Kanu means gift
Ahi means fire
[name_m]Aldric[/name_m]
[name_m]Odin[/name_m] is a Norse god
[name_f]Eir[/name_f] is a Norse god
[name_m]Ares[/name_m] is a roman god
Maybe the sound and meaning of these names will appeal:
[name_m]Archie[/name_m]
[name_m]Kwan[/name_m]
[name_m]Angus[/name_m]
[name_m]Griffith[/name_m]
[name_m]Andreas[/name_m]
[name_m]Valerio[/name_m]
[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m]
[name_m]Lorcan[/name_m]
[name_m]Dante[/name_m]
[name_m]Ambrose[/name_m]
Alphard
[name_m]Anders[/name_m]
[name_m]Emrys[/name_m]
[name_m]Caius[/name_m]
[name_m]Anton[/name_m]
[name_m]Leopold[/name_m]
[name_m]Inigo[/name_m]
[name_m]Valor[/name_m]
The name that really resonated with me for you was the name [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u]. It has that beautiful, flowing, melodic sound, and although unusual, is a recognizable name with the option for plenty of diminutives if needed, like the adorable & gentle-sounding [name_m]Obie[/name_m]. But more importantly, the symbolism of the willow just seemed to fit - fair, soft & graceful - yet unbreakable.
Others that came to mind were:
Anthem - inspirational & majestic melody
[name_m]Noble[/name_m] - the sound is soft but the meaning is strong
[name_u]Ocean[/name_u] - so strong but deep and peaceful at the same time
[name_u]Salem[/name_u] - peace
Valdez - (val-DEHZ not val-DEEZ) bravery - love the nickname [name_m]Dezi[/name_m]
[name_m]Amos[/name_m] - beautiful gentle name but means strong & brave
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] the right name finds your little guy soon!
Firstly, congratulations on your baby boy, and I’m so glad he’s okay after all that!
The first name that comes to mind is [name_m]Adrian[/name_m]. It’s kind of reminiscent of [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] (which means little fire) but is much stronger in my opinion, with a strong [name_m]Roman[/name_m] background. I think [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] is just beautiful. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], a lovely type of tree, is a beautiful name as well, with a soft yet strong sound to me.
