Name me!

Hey, looking for name ideas!! My middle name will be either Sky or Skyler & my last name sounds a lot like Robin. I’m looking for something familiar (passes the “surprise court justice” test and won’t get me weird looks), and that is considered gender-neutral in the USA and Germany.

me

My eyes are dark brown and almond-shaped. I’m around 5’4 (163 cm if I did the math right) & would describe myself as average weight

about me

I am 14 years old (9th grade, soon to be 10th), neurodivergent and queer. Highly socially awkward. I read everything I can get my hands on and go to the library on a not-at-all-strict weekly basis. I spend way too much time on reddit, but I don’t really use many other social medias. I’m in the beginning of an intensive german course and I really enjoy learning about other peoples cultures. I have a complex religion and the closest label I have ever found is pagan. I have duel american-german citizenship; I have been all around the word but never to europe. I enjoy baking, reading, gardening, fashion, crochet (which I am terrible at), and occasionally drawing or writing. I have a handful of friends but too many having too many acquaintances tends to stress me out so I’m happier that way. I’m an INTP with an ambition to become an aerospace engineer, & have often been referred to as highly family-oriented.

Names I like: Rowen, Emerson, August(ine), Rory, Kit, Luka, Nico, Cameron, Jude
Names I don’t like: Casey, Charlie, Parker
“Eh” names: Riley (like the sound, hate the appearance), Avery, Arden
Blacklist (family members’ names, bad associations, etc): Hayden (I liked this one a lot before I got my current association with it), Honor, Quinn, Angel, Jordan, Eden, Alex, Atlas (same story as Hayden), Ari, Ash

Hello! I am in [name_f]Italy[/name_f], but I am more familiar with the perception of names in [name_u]Germany[/name_u] rather than US, so tell me if I wrote something wrong.

I would use: [name_u]Rowen[/name_u], [name_u]Kit[/name_u], [name_u]Rory[/name_u].

[name_u]Nico[/name_u] is masculine only in most of Europe.
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] literally means “Jewish” in [name_u]Germany[/name_u], I am not sure if you would be comfortable with it.
I would not really use [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] there, too difficult to spell in Europe in general.
[name_u]Augustine[/name_u] is feminine in [name_u]Germany[/name_u] and [name_u]France[/name_u] (and it is getting quiet popular for newborns in France).
I am not sure of the perception of [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], but the first time I heard it on Nameberry I thought it was a boy name and it needed a lot of time for me to get accustomated that it was not.

I can’t speak much for how names will be perceived in [name_u]Germany[/name_u], but maybe you would like [name_u]Romy[/name_u] or [name_u]Emery[/name_u]?

Thank you SO much!! This was so helpful! Especially that part about [name_u]Jude[/name_u] haha, that eliminates it for me (I’m not jewish).

I’m not actually considering most of the names in the “like” list, just wanted you to get an idea of my style

I hope the names are enough! [name_f]May[/name_f] I also suggest Apollinaris (since you are [name_m]Pagan[/name_m], not sure if you are Hellenist or [name_m]Roman[/name_m] or other but still wanted to get a try) if it is not too long for you. It is a theophorical name referred to [name_m]Apollo[/name_m].

I have considered both of those in the past  thank you!

Interesting, I’ve never heard that before (I’m from hawai`i). I’ve always translated friend as hoaloha.

Either way I really appreciate all the export you have put into this — Tysm!!

It is because Ruth → Luka

Ruth means “friend”

I am not from Hawaii so maybe I am wrong
Sorry if I sounded offensive or uninformed about this
