Name my daughter

If you were in my/our position of having to chooses name what would you choose?

Here are a few facts:

  • she is due in mid [name_u]August[/name_u] but could be earlier, who knows?
  • she is going to have English, Welsh, Irish and Italian ancestry.
  • one thing that isn’t allowed is [name_f]Mary[/name_f] names or variants

I’m not really going to say our style because I want to explore more styles and ideas. If anybody does kind of know my likings then please just try and forget them.

Thanks!

Hm, I would name her [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. I can’t really explain why, though [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f] obviously reflects the Welsh/Irish component.

I will give it a go…

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Isolde[/name_f]
[name_f]Helene[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Odette[/name_f]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Veronica[/name_f]
[name_f]Nadine[/name_f]

[name_u]Tierney[/name_u]
[name_u]Teagan[/name_u]
[name_u]Sloane[/name_u]
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u]
[name_u]Everly[/name_u]
[name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]
[name_f]Kinsley[/name_f]
[name_u]Brinley[/name_u]
[name_u]Addison[/name_u]
[name_f]Carys[/name_f]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u]
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u]
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u]

I would choose…

[name_f]Bianca[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemonde[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Odessa[/name_f]

I favor Italian names…
[name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_f]Valentina[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f] [name_f]Raphaela[/name_f]
[name_f]Vittoria[/name_f] [name_f]Isolde[/name_f]

Erm, well, if I were in your position, I would use something like [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] or [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]/[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]. Something with Italian influence, but also British influence, but yet sweet. I don’t know a ton about British culture, even though I wish I did, but I think a little British [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] would be adorable walking around the streets of [name_f]England[/name_f]! I think [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] would fit a summer baby pretty well, too. Then again, I have a sense about those sorts of things–sensing when people were born based on their personalities, and fitting names to the personalities of months and such. Sometimes I wonder if it’s part of my (undiagnosed) synesthesia (or what I assume is synesthesia–I’ve been told by synesthetes that it is, haha). Are we factoring your style into all of this? Or is this more of a “what would you do if you had this heritage, lived in this country, and were having a baby girl in this month?” sort of thing?

Some of my favorites:

[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] - some feel this is too tied to Paltrow. I disagree. I think it’s lovely. It means blessed & happy, what better? Plus the spunky nickname [name_f]Gwen[/name_f].
[name_f]Enid[/name_f] - life/spirit - another great meaning
[name_f]Eira[/name_f] - snow - maybe not for [name_u]August[/name_u] baby
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]
[name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f]
[name_f]Orla[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] - i think the day-lee-ah prn is really pretty too
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
[name_u]Adria[/name_u]
[name_f]Giana[/name_f]
[name_f]Caterina[/name_f]
