Quick question: how do you pronounce Aurélia compared to [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]? And do you live in the US? I ask because I love the look of accented names as well as the authenticity that some of them fan convey I just don’t know if the accent shows up on any documentation.

We pronounce Aurélia to rhyme with Australia, because of the accent on the e. We’ve never had trouble with people pronouncing it, to be honest, and other children seem to prefer to call her Aurélia rather than her nickname (Ray) which she used to call herself when she was very little. She tells me that no-one in her school calls her a shorter name and everyone calls her Aurélia, which is lovely.
In terms of documentation - most allows the accent but there are occasions where it’s left off. We live in Australia, I’m not sure if that makes a difference. It’s certainly not a common name here although we’ve come across one or two other Aurélia’s since we’ve had her!
