Name news (due tomorrow!)

In the name news … still holding steady with [name]Ari[/name] [name]Micah[/name] for the boy. For the girl, DH doesn’t like ANY of the Hebrew A names I picked out ([name]Ayla[/name], [name]Anina[/name], Aviella, [name]Ayana[/name]) but, will go with [name]Aria[/name] [name]Mayim[/name], but thinks [name]Aria[/name] [name]Maren[/name] flows better. I agree, but really want Hebrew in the name. He suggested [name]Ariela[/name] [name]Maren[/name]. I had orginally rejected, but now mulling it over … WDYT?

I think [name]Aria[/name] [name]Mayim[/name] flows better than [name]Aria[/name] [name]Maren[/name] because you don’t get the repetitive -ar- part in both names ([name]ARia[/name] m[name]ARen[/name]). It makes the name a bit bland if you ask me… [name]Ariela[/name] [name]Maren[/name] has the same problem, but not as bad since there are more sounds/letters between the two -ar- parts…

As for A names, have you considered [name]Aviva[/name]? It’s Hebrew and lovely, and [name]Aviva[/name] [name]Maren[/name] sounds lively yet grounded which I think is an excellent quality in a name ^^ [name]Aviva[/name] [name]Mayim[/name] is a bit more airy, but sounds lovely as well
Also, maybe he’d go with [name]Ariela[/name] [name]Mayim[/name]? I think it sounds better than [name]Ariela[/name] [name]Maren[/name], since the -ar- problem disappears…

If it was my choice I’d go with [name]Aviva[/name] [name]Maren[/name] or [name]Ariela[/name] [name]Mayim[/name] ^^

Best of luck to you!

I love [name]Ari[/name] [name]Micah[/name] (I think it’s so handsome), and I love [name]Aria[/name], too! I think that both [name]Aria[/name] [name]Mayim[/name] and [name]Aria[/name] [name]Maren[/name] are beautiful, and I love how [name]Mayim[/name] gives you the Hebrew name you want.

I think they both flow well, but I agree that [name]Aria[/name] [name]Maren[/name] has a slightly better flow. (I pronounce [name]Aria[/name] as Ahr-ee-uh and [name]Maren[/name] as [name]Mare[/name]-in, so the “ar” sounds are totally different to me.) For some reason, [name]Aria[/name] [name]Maren[/name] is easier for me to say than [name]Aria[/name] [name]Mayim[/name]. Hmmm…

Either way, I think both of your finalists are beautiful!

Best wishes tomorrow!!!

[name]Ari[/name] [name]Micah[/name] is a nice name. I like both [name]Aria[/name] [name]Mayim[/name] and [name]Aria[/name] [name]Maren[/name]. I love [name]Ariela[/name] [name]Maren[/name], is [name]Ariela[/name] Hebrew? I think any of your choices will be lovely.

I’m also really into Hebrew names. Some you didn’t mention (and meanings)…

[name]Zaylia[/name] - zealous, ardent
[name]Zahara[/name] - to shine; flower
[name]Samara[/name] - under God’s rule: also, it is the “helicopter” fruit that falls from maple trees
[name]Selah[/name] - frequently used in psalms, denotes a musical interlude; can mean forever; ‘sela’ means rock
[name]Seraphina[/name] - ardent
[name]Miriam[/name] - wished-for child
[name]Jemima[/name] - dove
[name]Hannah[/name] - grace; [name]Jesus[/name]'s grandma
[name]Eden[/name] - place of pleasure, delight
[name]Alisa[/name] - great happiness
[name]Bella[/name] - devoted to God

From your choices, I like [name]Aria[/name] [name]Maren[/name] the best.

I like the suggestion of [name]Aviva[/name] [name]Maren[/name], it’s lovely and the nn of [name]Viv[/name] really appeals to me.

Looking forward to the birth announcement here on nameberry.

From your post it sounds like you’re having twins. Did I understand correctly? I think it’s nice when twin names don’t “match” too well. Would you consider names that don’t start with “A”?

Nope … no twins … just trying to narrow it down to one name for each gender. We are waiting for the birthday for a surprise. At this point if it is a boy he will be [name]Ari[/name] [name]Micah[/name]. If it is a girl, she will likely be [name]Aria[/name] [name]Mayim[/name], although possibly either [name]Ariela[/name] [name]Maren[/name] or [name]Ariela[/name] [name]Mayim[/name]. There were lots of girls’ names I liked ([name]Ayla[/name], Adiya) that the DH didn’t like, and the DH liked [name]Aliya[/name] (I didn’t). He had suggested [name]Ariela[/name] from the get-go, and I am just warming to it … (but now he prefers [name]Aria[/name]). Could be any day now! That’s the scoop! Opinions are still welcome!

I love [name]Aria[/name]…very pretty and musical…
