so i’m not even close to expecting but i’ve always loved imagining names for my future babies! my fiancé and i have talked about many, many different options and have agreed on a girl name that we both really like. i’m just worried it’s a bit long?
i’ve always loved the name [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] (george ee ah nuh) as it sort of honors both my grandparents (george for my poppop who passed and my grandmas middle name is ann). plus i think it would be adorable to call a little girl georgie.
my fiancé had a favorite aunt who passed away young who she wants to honor. her name was [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] with the hispanic pronunciation (puh tree see uh).
so the full name would be [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] and the last name will be 2 syllables and start with G.
i’m just concerned that a 10 syllable name is just… way too long? i dunno we both really love it so i guess it doesn’t matter but i just thought i’d ask for some opinions to see what y’all think?
thank you! sorry if this is silly to post here lol
I think it’s fine! It’s a tad long but not so overwhelming that it’s too much or distracting, and because your last name is only two syllables I think it would balance out really well. Also the fact that syllables very rarely matter when it comes to a name helps! It’s a very pretty name
I think [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] sounds perfectly fine! Most people won’t ever have to say her full name anyway. And, personally, I love long, romantic sounding names, so I say go for it! It’s a gorgeous choice, imo.
It is long, but it is not too long. It’s your favorite name and it has beautiful meaning behind it. Plus, you’ll likely not use the entire name often, and you have the nickname to fall back on when you want it shortened. [name_u]Perfect[/name_u].
I don’t think it’s too long at all, I probably wouldn’t have even noticed that about it if you hadn’t said anything. I think the fact that [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] is a fairly common, familiar name makes its length less of a thing people would think about, and especially with a two syllable last name it doesn’t sound like you’re overdoing it.
I think it’s fine. [name_f]My[/name_f] full name is longer, and it’s never been a problem. The first plus last is only 6 syllables, which is a manageable length. [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] is gorgeous, and I’ve also considered it to honour a Georg(ina) and a someone with middle name [name_f]Ann[/name_f] haha.
I do think it’s a lot - but, on the other hand, she’ll very rarely introduce herself as [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] [LN], so you should be fine.
I don’t think it’s too long, it sounds like a 19th century novel character in my opinion (not the main character, but a very wealthy, lonely girl who feels trapped in her parents estate)
this name is absolutely gorgeous! i do think that her middle name could be mispronounced, but that doesn’t matter too much. if you both love the name i think you should go with it.
I don’t think it’s too long! It’s sweet and elegant. I also think it benefits from the fact both names are familiar so the name doesn’t sound super dramatic or anything despite it’s length. I think [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] is a beautiful name!
