We are down to 3 names and need some outside opinions : [name_f]Maya[/name_f], [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], and [name_f]Lily[/name_f].
Which do you prefer?
What connotations do you associate with each name (whether positive, negative or neutral)?
Thanks!
I love [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. Sophisticated, fun and fresh, yet classic. What are you thinking for middle names?
Her middle name is [name_u]Ryan[/name_u].
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]…gorgeous!
I love all three. But [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] comes with the unfortunate nickname “[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] Chlamydia”.
I have literally never heard [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] Chlamydia in my life.
I think [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] has the best flow, and I think it’s a very elegant name
I was just about to say the same…never heard of [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] Chlamydia…
I still love it and I love how feminine [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is next to masculine [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]. Sounds like a fun, sophisticated and sassy in the right way kind of girl!
Thank you so much for all of your input so far!
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] is probably my favorite out of the three by itself, but [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] is my favorite in combination. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] is lovely, vintage and sweet! Would age well. 2nd for me is [name_f]Lily[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Maya[/name_f] out of the three, but that’s probably because I am debating using that name for my girl.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is my favorite. [name_f]Maya[/name_f] comes in a close second.
I think [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] flows best. [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] has a somewhat similar sound when I say it aloud. I think it’s the long My/[name_m]Ry[/name_m] sound.
Oh man…all three are GORGEOUS!
But with the middle name of [name_u]Ryan[/name_u], I’d use [name_f]Lydia[/name_f].
It flows the best.
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] - [name_f]Maya[/name_f], [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_f]Maia[/name_f] etc. have become increasingly popular over the years, and while I think [name_f]Maya[/name_f] is pretty, I’d rate it at about a 6/10 score.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] - Stunning. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is sophisticated, classic, and sort of reminds me of the [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] from Pride and Prejudice. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is easily recognized and pronounced, yet very unique. Also, since it starts with [name_m]Ly[/name_m], you might even be able to get away with nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f] if you wanted.
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] - [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is so, so, so popular! I would steer clear. It’s a pretty name, and I prefer it just slightly to [name_f]Maya[/name_f], but it’s got nothing on [name_f]Lydia[/name_f].
I adore [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]! [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] is a gorgeous combination, still feminine, yet edgy with [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] in the middle. I have absolutely never heard [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] Chlamydia, and would never have come up with that!
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] is sweet also, but [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is a bit popular nowadays.
While [name_f]Maya[/name_f] is a nice name, I think [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] is a bit repetitive.
I love [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is nice too, it’s just not my favourite. [name_f]Maya[/name_f] reminds me of [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Angelou[/name_f] (great assosiation). I agree though that [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] is repetitive. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] reminds me of Pride & Prejudice. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is not a great character, but I love Pride & Prejudice.
For me it depends on how you pronounce [name_f]Maya[/name_f]. If it’s “MY-uh,” then I’d go w/[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] because of the sound of [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]. If it’s “[name_f]May[/name_f]-ah,” I’d go w/[name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] because the initial sounds of the names would be different. I’m just not fond of [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] myself, but I would not have thought of [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] Chlamydia in a million years.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is my favorite one!
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] seems too plain, like they are missing something. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] stands out in the 3 of them. It’s beautiful!
For what it’s worth, all three are in the national top 100 (although maybe I’ve noticed that more because [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]'s huge in my state? I’ve known probably close to 10?). But [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]'s by far my favorite, too. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] sounds very nice, and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]'s such a sweet, dainty, strong, intelligent choice! It seems like she literally has everything going for her. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] I adore for very sentimental reasons, but it has been popular for quite a while now and doesn’t feel quite so special. [name_f]Maya[/name_f]'s also popular, but very pretty, too, but [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] I’ve been crushing on a lot lately, so that could be why it inches out for me, as well. :] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u], all the way!
