So, we have 5 short weeks left!! For months & months, DH has added “[name]Kay[/name]” as a middle name to every name I say, after my [name]MIL[/name]. I don’t like [name]Kay[/name], but adore my [name]MIL[/name] (and our first daughter shares my middle name, my moms first name), so I reluctantly agreed. Well, tonight my [name]MIL[/name] & I were talking about names & it turns out that she’s always hated her middle name and doesn’t want us to use it! LOL!! I feel like I have a fresh start at a name I truly love now, but we’re running out of time.
I tend to like girlie names (dd is [name]Ella[/name]), names that are popular/trendy or unisex names with feminine middle names (although I know they aren’t a favorite on here! )
“vintage names” are nms, although fine for others.
I’d love to hear suggestions from you all…throw out your best combos to go with “[name]Gabriella[/name] [name]Dawn[/name]” nn [name]Ella[/name].
[name]TIA[/name]!
It still has the ‘[name]Kay[/name]’ sound without actually using [name]Kay[/name], and [name]Avery[/name] fits your other criteria. It is one of my favorite names.
[name]Angelina[/name] goes perfect with [name]Gabriella[/name] in my opinion and it’s definitely a trendy name what with [name]Angelina[/name] [name]Jolie[/name]. I like [name]Lena[/name] and [name]Ella[/name] together for nn’s. No, no, no to [name]Avery[/name]-leave [name]Avery[/name] to the boys!
agree with pp, [name]Angelina[/name] nn [name]Leni[/name], [name]Lina[/name] or [name]Angel[/name] would be great with [name]Gabriella[/name] nn [name]Ella[/name]! [name]Kate[/name] would be an awesome mn, still has the [name]Kay[/name] sound as pp said. You could spell it Kayte if you wanted, but [name]Kate[/name] is better in my opinion, Kayte is the trendier version in my opinion, you said you liked trendy so maybe you would rather Kayte. Make sure ur [name]MIL[/name] likes the middle you choose. Try to still have your middle honoring her! [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Kate[/name], [name]Katrina[/name], [name]Kathleen[/name], & [name]Carys[/name] are just a few names you could honor her with.
@lucystone- I like a lot of the names you suggested!! [name]Ella[/name] has called her little sister “[name]Emma[/name]” for months now. DH & I both like it & it’s actually not extremely popular where we live, so we’ll see.
We love “[name]Kate[/name]” for a middle name & I actually thought about “Kayte” but I do agree that I like [name]Kate[/name] better.
I liked “[name]Emma[/name] [name]Kate[/name]” but I kept saying it one day & it reminded me of “imitate” so that’s out.
Thank you for the suggestion of [name]Angelina[/name] (I like [name]Lina[/name] or [name]Lena[/name]!) but I’m team [name]Jennifer[/name] all the way, so I just can’t bring myself to use [name]Angelina[/name]! Haha! I know two little girls named [name]Avery[/name] & dont know any boys, so I guess that’s why the name seems like a girl’s name to me. Friends of ours have “[name]Payton[/name], [name]Parker[/name] and [name]Preslie[/name],” three of the most gorgeous blonde haired, blue eyed little girls, so it’s made me like unisex names more.
Thank you all for your suggestions! We appreciate them!!
I think [name]Gabriella[/name] & [name]Emmaline[/name] go together very well! I also like [name]Emilia[/name] (or [name]Amelia[/name]).
I’ve never seen ‘[name]Preslie[/name]’ spelled that way, but my name is [name]Leslie[/name], and one of my friends (a musician) sometimes calls me [name]Leslie[/name]-[name]Presley[/name]!
[name]Helena[/name] or [name]Elena[/name] could work to get the nn [name]Lena[/name]. I also have a fondness for the name [name]Alina[/name] (nn [name]Lina[/name]).
Best,
L.
What about [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Kate[/name]? That was my first thought btw…
You can call her [name]Emme[/name], [name]Emmy[/name], [name]Emma[/name], [name]Line[/name], or even [name]Lena[/name] (a bit forced). haha…
